摘要: The present disclosure pertains to a system for separating plasma and/or serum from blood. The system is configured to separate plasma and/or serum from between about 20 and about 50 μl of blood. Separating plasma and/or serum from that amount of blood may be useful during a bilirubin level estimation in newborn babies. The system alleviates the need to centrifuge a sample of blood to separate the blood plasma and/or serum. The system is configured such that the separated serum is held by the system during an optical analysis to estimate bilirubin levels, thus eliminating the need to transfer the serum sample to a cuvette for analysis. In some embodiments, the system comprises a cartridge body, a filter, a serum pathway, an analysis port, a negative pressure source, a suction connector port, and/or other components.

摘要: An apparatus (M) and related method for supporting X-ray imaging. The apparatus comprises an input interface (IN) for receiving a request to perform an X-ray exposure with an X-ray source (XR) of an X-ray imager (XI) to image an object (PAT). A compliance checker (CC) of the apparatus (M) is configured to check said request against an imaging safety protocol for said object to produce a safety compliance result. A safety enforcer (SE) of the apparatus is configured to issue, based on the safety compliance result, i) an alert signal and/or ii) a control signal to initiate a safety action that at least affect an impact of the requested X-ray exposure on the object.

摘要: The present invention relates to mobile imaging. In order to provide a mobile medical imaging system (100) with improved positioning characteristics, A positioning arrangement (126) is provided. The positioning arrangement comprises at least one positioning sensor (128). The at least one positioning sensor determines a current distance between a mobile structure of a mobile medical imaging system and at least one object in an environment of the mobile medical imaging system. The at least one positioning sensor operates in a first mode if a current distance is greater than a predetermined threshold, and/or in a second mode, if the current distance is smaller than the predetermined threshold. In the first mode, the at least one positioning sensor operates at a first spatial resolution, and, in the second mode, the at least one positioning sensor operates at a second spatial resolution, which second spatial resolution differs from the first spatial resolution.
