An image forming apparatus (1) includes a front covering (2) and a locking mechanism (2). The front covering (2) is opened and closed in attachment or detachment of a toner container (15). The locking mechanism (3) locks the front covering (2). The term “lock” refers to the front covering (2) being kept closed with no external force acting on the front covering (2). The toner container (15) includes a protrusion (151). Only when the protrusion is located at a specific position of the toner container (15), the locking mechanism (3) operates according to opening or closing of the front covering (2).
Abstract:
An automatic document feeder (300) includes a housing (301), conveyance roller pairs (313 to 317), and a pressure releasing mechanism. The housing (301) is openably/closably attached to a main body of an image forming apparatus. The conveyance roller pairs (313 to 317) pinch an original document sheet with pressure and feed the original document sheet. The pressure releasing mechanism detaches one rollers (313b to 317b) of the conveyance roller pairs (313 to 317) from the other rollers (313a to 317a) in conjunction with an operation of opening the housing 301 against the main body.
Abstract:
An image reading device includes a document transport controller and an operation portion. The document transport controller controls to discharge a document in one of two sheet discharging modes including a first sheet discharging mode in which the document is turned over again after both sides of the document have been read, and a second sheet discharging mode in which the document is discharged without being turned over again. The operation portion accepts an instruction to select one of the first sheet discharging mode and the second sheet discharging mode to discharge the document.

A developer housing container includes a container main body, a moving wall, a sealing member, and at least one communicating mechanism. The container main body has an inner circumference surface which defines an internal space tubularly extending, and is provided with a developer discharge port. The moving wall has an outer circumference surface arranged to be opposed to the inner circumference surface, and a transport surface which defines a housing space. The moving wall moves in a first direction while transporting the developer toward the developer discharge port. At least one communicating mechanism is arranged at a predetermined position in the first direction in the container main body and allows the housing space and the internal space positioned more upstream of the moving wall in the first direction to communicate with each other by partly deforming the sealing member.

An image forming apparatus includes an image acquisition section, an image processing section, and an image forming section. The image processing section extracts an identifier given to an irreversibly compressed set of image data in print data, allows the image acquisition section to acquire a corresponding set of image data associated with the extracted identifier, and replaces an image represented by the irreversibly compressed set of image data with an image represented by the corresponding set of image data to generate a print target image. The image forming section forms the generated print target image on a recording paper sheet. The irreversibly compressed set of image data and the corresponding set of image data associated with the identifier given to the irreversibly compressed set of image data represent the same object image.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a save mode setting unit, a reference cost obtaining unit, a minimum monetary-sum extraction unit, and a usage volume setting unit. The minimum monetary-sum extraction unit is configured to extract a minimum monetary sum for each tone from reference costs for a plurality of image forming modes. The usage volume setting unit is configured to: obtain a post-reduction cost where a reduced monetary sum by the save mode is subtracted from the minimum monetary sum; and set reference usage volume as usage volumes for the dark color material and the light color material in the save mode, the reference usage volume being obtained based on the reference costs for the image forming modes corresponding to the post-reduction cost.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a case section, a conveyance section, a controller, an acquiring section, and storage. The controller controls the image forming section and the conveyance section according to mechanical settings information corresponding to a type of the sheet. The acquiring section acquires an identification image for identifying the type of the sheet. The storage stores therein mechanical-settings-information candidates and registered images associated with the mechanical-settings-information candidates. The controller determines whether or not a matching image exists when a sheet is loaded in the case section. Here, the matching image is a registered image matching the identification image of the registered images. The controller adjusts mechanical settings information based on a mechanical-settings-information candidate associated with the matching image of the mechanical-settings-information candidates when determining that the matching image exists.
