摘要: Systems and methods are provided for motion detection and capture control of video data from a capsule camera system having an on-board storage. The capsule camera system moves through the GI tract under the action of peristalsis and records images of the intestinal walls. The capsule's movement is episodic and jerky. The capacity of the on-board storage is limited. In order to avoid unnecessary capture of images when the capsule camera moves very slowly or stalls, motion detection technique is utilized to help control image capture. Furthermore, an adaptive capture control is disclosed that automatically adjusts the threshold level of capture control to maintain proper image capture. The invented capture control also conserves precious battery power by eliminating capture of unnecessary images when the capsule camera moves too slowly or stalls. The present invention of image capture control and threshold update is also applicable to a capsule camera system having a wireless transmitter instead of an on-board storage.

摘要: The present invention shows that DNA vaccine vectors can be improved by removal of CpG-N motifs and optional addition of CpG-S motifs. In addition, for high and long-lasting levels of expression, the optimized vector should include a promoter/enhancer that is not down-regulated by the cytokines induced by the immunostimulatory CpG motifs. Vectors and methods of use for immununostimulation are provided herein. The invention also provides improved gene therapy vectors by determining the CpG-N and CpG-S motifs present in the construct, removing stimulatory CpG (CpG-S) motifs and/or inserting neutralizing CpG (CpG-N) motifs, thereby producing a nucleic acid construct providing enhanced expression of the therapeutic polypeptide. Methods of use for such vectors are also included herein.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a method and apparatus of a computer interface device using an open kinetic chain with retractable links. It comprises a two-link robot arm that rotates along a shoulder and elbow joint. Each link can also be extendable in length. The end effector stylus has a ball tip that fits into a socket on the distal end of the second link, meaning that the stylus is detachable and interchangeable. The device can achieve a very high refreshing rate and a high spatial resolution. The links, elbow joint, and shoulder joint have sensors that record linear position and rotational data, respectively, which get transmitted and processed in an MPU on the main PCB. The PCB communicates with a PC as a haptic input device. The method and apparatus improve: (1) device control accuracy and comfort; (2) refreshing rate and responsiveness; (3) device resolution and/or input area size.
