    摘要: There is disclosed a coupler for photography represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a branched alkyl group having 3 to 5 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 represents an aryl group; X represents a divalent linking group; Ar represents an aryl group; and Z is a hydrogen atom or a group eliminable through the coupling reaction with the oxidized product of an aromatic primary amine type color developing agent,and a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material comprising the same.The coupler mentioned above is not only excellent in solubility in organic solvents, but also can be easily purified, thus being capable of exhibiting excellent characteristics with respect to spectral absorption characteristics, sensitivity, color density, color staining as well as with respect to image storability such as light resistance, heat resistance and humidity resistance.

    摘要: There are disclosed a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material having a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one kind of cyan dye forming couplers represented by the formula [I] or the formula [II] as defined in the specification provided on a reflective support, and a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material further having a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one kind of magenta couplers represented by the formula [III] as defined in the specification.The light-sensitive silver halide color photographic materials according to this invention have excellent color forming characteristics and form very fast dyes to heat, light and humidity.

    摘要: [S]-(+)-2-acetyl-7-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)benzofuran (SEBF) is prepared by subjecting 2-acetyl-7-hydroxybenzofuran and [R]-glycidol to dehydration condensation in an inert organic solvent in the presence of triphenylphosphine and a dialkyl azodicarboxylate. The [S]-(+)-2-acetyl-7-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)benzofuran can be easily converted into [S]-2-acetyl-7-(2-hydroxy-3-isopropylaminopropoxy)benzofuran ([S]-befunolol) or salts thereof which are useful as a .beta.-adrenergic blocking agent, by reacting it with isopropylamine.

    摘要: An optical information recording medium having a structure in which irregular reflection of information light and recording/reproducing light from the reflective layer of an optical information record medium is prevented, thereby reducing the noise appearing on the reproduced image. The optical information recording medium for recording information by holography comprises a transparent substrate, a recording layer where information is recorded by an interference pattern, and a filter layer formed between the transparent substrate and the recording layer and adapted to transmit a light of a first wavelength and reflect a light of a second wavelength. The filter layer of the thus structured optical information recording medium transmits a light of the first wavelength (for example, red light) and reflects a light of the second wavelength (for example, green light). As a result, two lights of different wavelengths can be separated and used for different purposes without being influenced by each other.

    摘要: A clamping assembly for attaching a probe device to an attachment arm of a measuring instrument which extends from the instrument along a first axis. The probe device has a base arm positioned adjacent to the attachment arm in an axially overlapping manner. The clamping assembly includes a first annular clamping member proximate the measuring instrument, a second annular clamping member positioned axially adjacent the first clamping member, a rotatable annular clamping ring encompassing the first and second clamping members, and an arrangement for offsetting a central bore of the second clamping member relative to a central bore of the first clamping member along an axis extending perpendicular to the first axis during a relative axial movement between the clamping ring and the first clamping member. The effect is to urge the base arm into abutment with the attachment arm in a direction along the second axis.
