In order to obtain a makeup cosmetic preparation having natural color-rendering property in response to intensity of surrounding light, a light-responding high color-rendering makeup cosmetic preparation of the present invention is characterized in that titanium oxide or titanium oxide compound, which has photochromic property to darken in response to intensity of irradiated ultraviolet ray, is coated on a surface of mica and metal or metal compound exists on a surface and/or inside of said photochromic titanium oxide coated mica and color of said metal or metal compound is observed as an object color, and wherein an observation color of said photochromic titanium oxide coated mica is changed by emphasizing an interference color generated by darkening of titanium oxide layer which is made of titanium oxide or titanium oxide compound in response to irradiation of ultraviolet ray, and wherein at least one of color tone in the cosmetic preparation is given by an observation color of the observation color changeable type photochromic titanium oxide coated mica.

An object of the present invention is to provide a sunscreen cosmetic in which a micro particle zinc oxide is dispersed satisfactorily and which is excellent in the ultraviolet rays protection effect as indicated by SPF and PFA, and also in the finish transparency and the system stability. A sunscreen cosmetic obtained by means of an incorporation of a composite powder of a micro particle zinc oxide having a particle size of 0.1 &mgr;m or less which is coated with a silicic anhydride at a coating rate of 5 to 30 wt % and whose surface is treated with a silicone of 3 to 12 wt %, a dispersing treatment of said composite powder in an oil or water using a media-agitating mill or a high pressure dispersing machine and/or an incorporation of a polyoxyalkylene-modified polysiloxane.

An objective of the present invention is to provide a method for producing cosmetic products capable of improving a touch of cosmetic products containing powder and exerting the function of the powder sufficiently. In order to accomplish the objective described above, a method for producing cosmetic products according to the invention comprises a use of a media-agitating mill to disperse powder components and oil components or aqueous components. A method for producing cosmetic products according to the invention is applied to powdery cosmetic products, oily cosmetic products, emulsified cosmetic products and lipsticks. A method for producing cosmetic products involving a step for imparting a particle with hydrophobicity using a media-agitating mill is also provided. Furthermore, a method for producing cosmetic products using hydrophobicity-imparted powdery dispersion containing organically-denatured clay mineral is provided.

A composite synthetic mica powder having an excellent ultraviolet ray screening effect, the composite synthetic mica powder comprising a fine particle layer (B) containing one or more types of elements selected from the group of Te, Bi, Pb, Ce, Fe, Mo, Nb, W, Sb, Sn, V, Mn, Ni, Co, Zn and Ti is formed on the surface of scale-like mica particles (A). The covering ratio of particles (A) by particles (B) is in the range of 0.5 to 1; the ratio of particle size of the particles (B) to plane direction diameter of the particles (A) is 0.1 or less; and particle size of the particles (A) is 1 to 100 .mu.m. Also, a red synthetic mica which develops light-resistant red color closer to the color of human skin and ultraviolet rays, a method for manufacturing the same, and an ultraviolet ray screening agent which contains the synthetic mica.
