摘要:
In a reuse method for reusing a reusable device and a sensor of a first image forming apparatus having a first process linear velocity in a second image forming apparatus having at least one second process linear velocity different from the first process linear velocity, the reusable device and the sensor are installed in the first image forming apparatus, and when the first image forming apparatus switches from the first process linear velocity to the second process linear velocity at an initial state before the reusable device is used, output of the sensor at the second process linear velocity is measured. When information on the output of the sensor at the second process linear velocity is stored, the reusable device and the sensor are removed from the first image forming apparatus and installed in the second image forming apparatus.

An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier configured to carry an image and a charger to which a direct current voltage overlapped with an AC voltage is applied as a charging bias to charge the image carrier. The charger is positioned in contact or contactlessly with the image carrier. The AC voltage applied to the charger in an adjustment of the AC voltage is not less than twice a charging start voltage Vth at which the image carrier starts to be charged.

An optical sensor includes: a light-emitting unit; a light-receiving unit that receives light radiated from the light-emitting unit and reflected from a detection target and that outputs an output value in response to the light received; and a correcting unit that corrects the output value of the light-receiving unit when receiving the light reflected from the detection target based on the output value of the light-receiving unit obtained by irradiating a detection area of the optical sensor with light without any light reflective objects being present in the detection area.

A liquid-droplet ejecting apparatus has a drawing mechanism and an ejection head. The ejection head has a nozzle face and a protection plate. The protection plate has a frame portion and a first end positioned at a first widthwise plane, and a second end positioned at a second widthwise plane. The protection plate has a first and a second opening formed therethrough. The first opening is in fluid communication with the nozzles, and the second opening provides fluid communication with the nozzles and an exterior of the ejection head. A cap member selectively contacts the nozzle face and the protection plate, and the drawing mechanism operates in a first mode in which the cap member covers the first and the second opening, and a second mode in which the cap member covers only one of the first and the second opening.

A method for preparing a pigment dispersion including subjecting a mixture including at least a pigment, a dispersant and water to a first dispersion treatment using a media mill to prepare a first dispersion; and then subjecting the first dispersion to a second dispersion treatment using a media-less mill to prepare the pigment dispersion, wherein the pigment in the pigment dispersion has an average particle diameter (D50) of from 20 to 130 nm for pigments except carbon black or from 70 to 180 for carbon black, and the standard deviation of the particle diameter of the pigment is less than the average particle diameter (D50) for pigments except carbon black or one half of the average particle diameter (D50) for carbon black. A pigment dispersion prepared by the method. An inkjet ink including the pigment dispersion and one member selected from water, water soluble organic solvents, and surfactants.

An active energy ray-curable composition is provided. The active energy ray-curable composition comprises a polymerizable compound and a polymerization initiator. The polymerizable compound comprises isobornyl acrylate. The active energy ray-curable composition gives, when centrifuged with a centrifugal force of 8×106 g, a supernatant with an absorbance at a wavelength of 700 nm of 0.02 or lower.

A toner includes a polyester resin including a polyester resin component A (A) insoluble in tetrahydrofuran; and a polyester resin component B (B) soluble in tetrahydrofuran. The toner has a first glass transition temperature (Tg1st) of from 20° C. to 50° C., measured at a first temperature rising in differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and satisfies the following formulae (1) and (2): T=1/{a/(TgA+273)+b/(TgB+273)}−273 (1) T−TgAB>30×a (2) wherein a and b represent weight ratios of (A) and (B) to a total weight of (A) and (B), and satisfy the equation a+b=1; and TgA, TgB and TgAB represent second glass transition temperatures (Tg2nd), measured at a second temperature rising in differential scanning calorimetry, of (A), (B), and a mixture of (A) and (B), respectively.
