摘要: According to one embodiment, a magnetic disk device is configured to read data from and write data to a magnetic disk using a magnetic head and provided with a control module that controls initial operation of the magnetic disk device according to initial firmware. The magnetic disk device includes a reader, a retainer, a blocker, and a switch. The reader reads control firmware stored in the magnetic disk. The retainer fixes a servo control amount for the magnetic head after the control firmware is read, and retains the magnetic head at a predetermined position above the magnetic disk. The blocker blocks input of an interrupt signal to the control module. The switch switches the initial firmware to the control firmware after the servo control amount is fixed and the input of an interrupt signal is blocked.

摘要: Provided is an electrical junction box that enables appropriate protection of a bus bar and also enables downsizing. The electrical junction box includes a terminal reception block (11) that accommodates a connection terminal, and a casing (12) that accommodates the terminal reception block (11). The terminal reception block (11) is configured such that a bus bar (19) is inserted into the terminal reception block (11) and an end portion of the bus bar (19) at the side opposite to the direction of insertion protrudes from the terminal reception block (11). The casing (12) includes a protector (20) that is configured to cover the end portion of the bus bar (19) protruding from the terminal reception block (11). Making the terminal reception block (11) accommodated in the casing (12) causes the end portion of the bus bar (19) to be covered with the protector (20).

摘要: Protons are entered into a substrate to be analyzed at a proton incident angle larger than 0° and smaller 90°. Excited by the entered protons and emitted from the substrate to be analyzed, the characteristic X-ray is measured by an energy dispersive X-ray detector and the like. Impurity elements present in the substrate to be analyzed are identified based on the measured characteristic X-ray. The in-plane distribution in the substrate can be obtained by scanning the proton beam. The in-depth distribution can be obtained by entering protons at different proton incident angles. The elemental analysis method can be applied to semiconductor device manufacturing processes to analyze metal contamination or quantify a conductivity determining impurity element on an inline basis and with a high degree of accuracy.

摘要: A polarizing optical element changes its optical reflectance and/or transmittance according to a polarization state of incoming light. The optical element includes: a first grating layer including multiple striped portions that extend in a predetermined direction; and a second grating layer including multiple striped portions that extend in that predetermined direction. Average grating pitches of the first and second grating layers are both defined to be shorter than the wavelength of the incoming light. The first grating layer is made of a first material that exhibits a light reflecting property to the incoming light. The second grating layer is made of a second material that reduces the reflection of the incoming light from the first grating layer.
