    摘要: A reduction gear for producing and feeding the rotation of a low pressure turbine driven by a combustion gas generated in a combustor to an output shaft is received in a central opening of a rotary type heat exchanger which is disposed so as to be perpendicular to a turbine shaft at a rear portion of a body housing of a gas turbine engine. As a result, not only the engine can be made small but also the output can be produced at to the opposite side of the heat exchanger. The combustor and a collector housing for collecting combustion gas are disposed on diametrical opposite sides in a transverse cross section of the body housing whereby an internal space of the body housing is effectively utilized and an axial dimension of the engine is shortened. Since the compressed air is supplied to the heat exchanger through peripheral walls of the body housing having a double construction, prevention of heat radiation from the body housing and effective utilization of an internal space of the body housing are realized.

    摘要: There is provided an internal combustion engine that uses a blended fuel consisting of hydrocarbon and alcohol, and can efficiently operate relative to a wide range of required load. The internal combustion engine includes: intake ports 4a and 4b and two injectors 5a and 5b. The injectors include a first injector 5a that injects a hydrocarbon fuel and a second injector 5b that injects an alcohol fuel. An optimum combustion mode is selected according to an operation state, and the ratio of the alcohol is properly adjusted according to the combustion mode. The intake ports includes a first intake port 4a that guides the hydrocarbon fuel to an inner peripheral portion of a combustion chamber, and a second intake port 4c that guides the alcohol fuel to an outer peripheral portion of the combustion chamber to control octane number distribution in a cylinder. The internal combustion engine further includes separating means 8 for adding water to a blended fuel consisting of alcohol and hydrocarbon to separate into the alcohol fuel consisting of the alcohol and the water and the hydrocarbon fuel.

    摘要: A gas turbine engine E includes a compressor wheel 9 and a turbine wheel 10 fixed to a rotary shaft 8, a can-type combustor 18 disposed on an extension of the axis L of the rotary shaft 8, and an circular plate-type heat exchanger 12 disposed to surround a radially outer portion of the can-type combustor 18. The compressor wheel 9, the turbine wheel 10, the can-type combustor 18 and the plate-type heat exchanger 12 are disposed coaxially with the axis L of the rotary shaft 8. Therefore, the flows of compressed air and combustion gas are symmetrized with respect to the axis L, and the distribution of temperature within a casing is also symmetrized with respect to the axis L. Thus, the flows of compressed air and combustion gas within the gas turbine engine E can be axially symmetrized, and the generation of a thermal distortion can be prevented.

    摘要: A variable-pitch mechanism, for use in an airplane, a ship, or the like, for adjusting the pitch of a plurality of blades of a propeller in which attachment shafts of a plurality of radial blades of a propeller are rotatably mounted on a tubular hub which can be driven by a drive shaft, and eccentric pins projecting from ends of the attachment shafts are held in an annular groove defined in the outer periphery of an adjusting ring which is disposed concentrically in the hub and axially movable. The attachment shafts can be turned about their own axes through the eccentric pins in response to axial displacement of the adjusting ring for adjusting the pitch of the propeller blades.
