    摘要: A liquid toner for use in a liquid developer contains a dispersion medium and toner particles, each of which toner particles contains a coloring agent and a binder agent and is dispersed in the dispersion medium, the toner particles comprising small toner particles with a particle diameter of 0.1 .mu.m or less in an amount of 20 wt. % or less of the total weight of the toner particles, and having an average particle diameter of 0.3 to 5 .mu.m. Using the above-mentioned liquid toner in which the amount of the toner particles is controlled to 5 to 100 wt. % of the total weight of the liquid toner, a latent electrostatic image formed on a photoconductor can be developed to a toner image.

    摘要: A liquid developer containing a carrier liquid containing silicone oil, and toner particles dispersed in the carrier liquid and each containing a coloring agent and a resin, the resin contains at least one member selected from the group consisting of the following resins (a)-(g): (a): rosin polymers having a softening point of 50-190° C., a glass transition point of 10-170° C. and a molecular weight of 2,000-40,000 and obtained by reacting (a1) a rosin glycidyl ester, (a2) dicarboxylic acid or dicarboxylic anhydride, (a3) at least one crosslinking agent selected from the group consisting of polyfunctional epoxy compounds, tri- or more polybasic acids or anhydrides thereof tri- or more polyhydric alcohols, and (a4) a dihydric alcohol; (b): vinyl polymers having a ratio of the weight average molecular weight to the number average molecular weight of greater than 4; (c): olefin resins having a melt index of 2.5-700; (d): polyolefins or polyolefin copolymers having an acid value of 0.5-80 and a melt viscosity of 50-20,000 mpa·s at 200° C.; (e): polymers obtained by crosslinking carboxyl group-containing vinyl polymers with an amine; (f): vinyl polymers having at least 0.005% by weight of a crosslinking monomer based on a total monomer; and (g): silicone copolymers, silicone rubber or silicone-modified resins. A liquid developer containing a carrier liquid containing silicone oil, toner particles each containing a coloring agent and a resin, and an erucamide compound.

    摘要: A liquid developer for use in electrophotography is disclosed which is prepared by dispersing a toner consisting essentially of a pigment or dye and a resin in a carrier liquid having a high insulating property and a low dielectric constant, wherein said resin is a nonaqueous dispersed resin obtained by effecting, in a nonaqueous solvent comprising an aliphatic hydrocarbon, the steps of:(a) copolymerizing (1) a monomer A having the general formula I: ##STR1## [wherein R is H or --CH.sub.3, and A is --COOC.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 or --OC.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 (n is an integer of 6 to 20)] with (2) a polyfunctional monomer having two or more double bonds and (3) a monomer B having a glycidyl group or a vinyl monomer C having a carboxyl group,(b) esterifying the resulting copolymer with the monomer C when the monomer B was used in the step (a) and with the monomer B when the monomer C was used in the step (a) respectively, and(c) grafting the resulting esterified copolymer with a monomer D selected from the group consisting of compounds having the general formula II: ##STR2## [wherein R is the same as previously stated and Z is --COOC.sub.m H.sub.2m+1 (m is an integer of 1 to 4), --OCOC.sub.m' H.sub.2m'+1 (m' is an integer of 1 to 6), ##STR3## (m is the same as previously stated), --COOH, --COOC.sub.2 H.sub.4 OH or ##STR4## styrene, vinyl acetate, vinyltoluene, chlorostyrene, vinylpyrrolidone and vinylpyridine.
