    摘要: In a hydraulic tensioner having a relief valve inside its plunger, a relief valve spring-receiving plug, press-fit into the plunger is formed by forging a plurality of flat surfaces on its exterior. These flat surfaces, in cooperation with the cylindrical inner wall of the plunger, form plural oil passages, each having a segment-shaped cross-section. The oil passages allow flow of oil past the plug to a discharge opening at the front end of the plunger, and the flow of oil is substantially unaffected by circumferential displacement of the oil passages on the periphery of the plug relative to the oil passages on the periphery of the relief valve seat.

    摘要: An electric motor comprising an inner periphery side rotor provided with inner peripheral permanent magnets with unlike poles, which are disposed alternately along a circumferential direction of the inner periphery side rotor, an outer periphery side rotor provided with outer peripheral permanent magnets with unlike poles, which are disposed alternately along a circumferential direction of the outer periphery side rotor, and a rotating device that varies a relative phase between the inner periphery side rotor and the outer periphery side rotor by rotating at least the inner periphery side rotor or the outer periphery side rotor around the rotational axis. The outer peripheral side rotor is arranged such that a rotational axis thereof is coaxial with a rotational axis of the inner periphery side rotor. The rotating device sets a variable width of the relative phase between the inner periphery side rotor and the outer periphery side rotor within a range of an electrical angle of below 180°.

    摘要: A hydraulic tensioner for use on an internal combustion engine provided with a timing mechanism including a wrapping connecting member extended in a timing mechanism chamber defined by an end wall of a cylinder block provided with a main gallery opening into the timing mechanism chamber, and a timing mechanism covering structure, to transmit the rotation of a crankshaft to a camshaft. The hydraulic tensioner exerts pressure to the wrapping connecting member in a direction substantially perpendicular to the running direction of the wrapping connecting member. The hydraulic tensioner comprises a shoe held in direct contact with the wrapping connecting member, and a hydraulic tensioning device for biasing the shoe toward the wrapping connecting member. The hydraulic tensioning device is disposed in the timing mechanism chamber so as to cover the open end of the main gallery. The timing mechanism covering structure has a timing mechanism cover provided with a handhole formed at a position corresponding to the hydraulic tensioning device.
