摘要： When images on the front and rear sides of multiple originals are reduced in size and recorded onto both sides of a single recording sheet in composite form, recording positions of images on the front and rear sides of each original are determined such that reduced images on the front side of the original are recorded on the front side of the recording sheet and reduced images on the rear side of the same original are recorded at corresponding positions on the rear side of the recording sheet. As a result, when the recording sheet is cut into pieces corresponding to respective recorded images, images on the front and rear sides of each cut piece of the recording sheet respectively agree with images on the front and rear sides of each original.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a unit for inputting image information from an external apparatus, a unit for forming an image on a recording medium, a unit for reading an original, a unit for detecting a jam of the recording medium, a unit for being manually operated by an operator, and a unit for controlling a recovery operation from a jammed state. The apparatus includes a first mode for forming an image corresponding to the input image information, and a second mode for forming a composite image by synthesizing the image corresponding to the input image information with an image of the original read by the reading unit. The control unit starts the recovery operation from the jammed state in response to release of the jam in the first mode, and starts the recovery operation from the jammed state in response to a manual operation of the operation unit by the operator after release of the jam in the second mode.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit for forming images onto sheets in either one of a first mode for sequentially forming the images onto the sheets from a last page and a second mode for sequentially forming the images onto the sheets from a front page. The apparatus also includes a rotation processing unit for rotating the image in the direction of 180.degree. for the direction of the image in the first mode before the image forming unit forms the images in the second mode. The apparatus further includes a tray for stacking the sheets, a reversing path for reversing the sheet in the second mode, a conveying path for conveying the sheets formed with the images by the image forming unit to the tray directly or through the reversing path, and a stapler for performing a stapling on an upstream side in the conveying direction in the sheet and on a left side or a right side in the conveying direction. The stapler performs the stapling on the left side in the conveying direction in the first mode and on the right side in the conveying direction in the second mode.

摘要： An image synthesizing apparatus includes a reading unit which reads an image of an original, and an input unit which inputs print data from an external apparatus. A first setting unit sets a synthesis mode for synthesizing image data output from the reading unit and the print data input from the input unit for recordation, and a second setting unit sets a number of pages of different print data to be synthesized in the synthesis mode. A control unit is adapted, when the synthesis mode is set by the first setting unit, to maintain the synthesis mode until the different print data of the number of pages set by the second setting unit is input by the input unit, and to cancel the synthesis mode after the different print data of the set number of pages has been input.
