摘要： An image synthesizing apparatus includes a reading unit which reads an image of an original, and an input unit which inputs print data from an external apparatus. A first setting unit sets a synthesis mode for synthesizing image data output from the reading unit and the print data input from the input unit for recordation, and a second setting unit sets a number of pages of different print data to be synthesized in the synthesis mode. A control unit is adapted, when the synthesis mode is set by the first setting unit, to maintain the synthesis mode until the different print data of the number of pages set by the second setting unit is input by the input unit, and to cancel the synthesis mode after the different print data of the set number of pages has been input.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a unit for inputting image information from an external apparatus, a unit for forming an image on a recording medium, a unit for reading an original, a unit for detecting a jam of the recording medium, a unit for being manually operated by an operator, and a unit for controlling a recovery operation from a jammed state. The apparatus includes a first mode for forming an image corresponding to the input image information, and a second mode for forming a composite image by synthesizing the image corresponding to the input image information with an image of the original read by the reading unit. The control unit starts the recovery operation from the jammed state in response to release of the jam in the first mode, and starts the recovery operation from the jammed state in response to a manual operation of the operation unit by the operator after release of the jam in the second mode.

An image forming method using a plurality of bins, and a counter for counting the number of sheets stored in each bin, includes interrupting the print if the number of sheets stored in the bin is over the upper limit in the copy mode, and continuing the print and switching the bin, in the printer and facsimile mode, if the number of sheets is over the upper limit.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit for forming images onto sheets in either one of a first mode for sequentially forming the images onto the sheets from a last page and a second mode for sequentially forming the images onto the sheets from a front page. The apparatus also includes a rotation processing unit for rotating the image in the direction of 180.degree. for the direction of the image in the first mode before the image forming unit forms the images in the second mode. The apparatus further includes a tray for stacking the sheets, a reversing path for reversing the sheet in the second mode, a conveying path for conveying the sheets formed with the images by the image forming unit to the tray directly or through the reversing path, and a stapler for performing a stapling on an upstream side in the conveying direction in the sheet and on a left side or a right side in the conveying direction. The stapler performs the stapling on the left side in the conveying direction in the first mode and on the right side in the conveying direction in the second mode.

摘要： An image formation apparatus comprises an image formation device for forming an image on a recording material according to image information light obtained from light emitted from a light source. A detector detects the light intensity emitted from the light source. A single cooling fan is provided for cooling both the light source and the image formation device. The drive force of the cooling fan is set at either a first value or a second value. The driving force is set at the first value during a time period from a start of energization of the light source until the light intensity detected by the detector is at least the predetermined value. The driving force is set at the second value after the detected light intensity is at least the predetermined value. The first value of the driving force is less than that of the second value.
