    摘要: A process for separating dimethyl naphthalenes having a component comprising 2,6-dimethyl naphthalene in the form of complexes with a complex-forming compound, which comprises contacting a dimethyl naphthalene isomer mixture comprising at least 2,6-dimethyl naphthalene or a hydrocarbon mixture containing said dimethyl naphthalene isomer mixture with a complex-forming compound selected from the group consisting of nitro compounds of 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, trimellitic anhydride and 2-chloro-5-nitrobenzoic acid, thereby to form a mixture of complexes of the dimethyl naphthalenes with said complex-forming compound having a main component comprising a complex of 2,6-dimethyl naphthalene with the complex-forming compound, and separating the complexes in the solid state from the reaction mixture.

    摘要: A compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R.sub.2 and R.sub.5, independently from each other, represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a lower alkyl group; one of R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 represents an imido group of the formula ##STR2## in which Y represents a 1,2-phenylene, 1,2-naphthylene, 2,3-naphthylene or 1,8-naphtylene group optionally containing at least one substituent, and the other represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R.sub.6 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxy group; and X represents a halogen atom; with the proviso that when R.sub.3 represents the imido group, R.sub.2 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom. This compound can be prepared by reacting a corresponding quinaldine derivative with a tetrahalophthalic acid or a reactive derivative thereof. A yellow organic pigment comprising this compound as a coloring ingredient is useful for coloring polymeric materials.

    摘要: An image pick-up apparatus is provided with: a charge-coupled device for picking up imaging light from a subject and forming image data; an image-shift mechanism for shifting the charge-coupled device to a plurality of relative positions with respect to the imaging light so as to allow the charge-coupled device to form the image data at the relative positions; an LPF constituted by a filter for removing a spatial frequency component that appears due to a light-quantity difference between a plurality of pieces of image data generated by the charge-coupled device through the image-shift mechanism; and a memory control section for combining the plurality of image data. With this arrangement, it is possible to suppress a striped pattern due to the light-quantity difference, and consequently to improve the image quality.

The specification also discloses an image recording method for recording an image on a recording medium, having the energy imparting step of imparting energy to a transfer recording medium having a transfer recording layer whose transfer characteristic is varied by the energy being imparted thereto to form an image on the transfer recording medium, the transferring step of transferring the image formed on the transfer recording medium by the energy imparting step to the recording medium, and the step of imparting a shearing to the recording medium to which the image has been transferred by the transferring step.
