    摘要: A dispensing closure assembly includes a deck having an outlet orifice, and an outlet conduit extending through the deck generally coaxially with respect to the outlet orifice. An inner wall extends generally coaxially with respect to the outlet conduit, wherein a fluid chamber is at least partially defined radially inwardly of the inner wall. A baffle wall is carried radially inwardly of the inner wall, wherein one or more fluid flow passages are defined between the inner wall and the baffle wall. The baffle wall includes a central portion opposed to the outlet conduit and a raised peripheral portion extending axially and radially outwardly from the central portion. Fluid flowing through the fluid flow passages enters the fluid chamber through the fluid flow passages, is directed toward the inner wall by the baffle wall, and then flows into the outlet conduit and out the outlet orifice.

    摘要: A plastic container or preform includes a multilayer wall having at least one layer of polyester resin, at least one layer of barrier resin, and an adhesion-promoting material blended with the barrier resin and/or the polyester resin to promote bonding between the barrier and polyester layers. The adhesion-promoting material includes an organometallic coupling agent based upon titanium, zirconium or aluminum. The organometallic coupling agent preferably has an amino end group with an affinity for carboxylic end groups in the polyester, and preferably is selected from the group consisting of neopentyl(diallyl)oxy, tri(N-ethylenediamino) ethyl titanate, zirconate and aluminate. Coupling agents based upon titanium and zirconium are particularly preferred for containers and preforms having a clear (non-colored) wall.

    摘要: A plastic closure includes a closure shell having a base wall, a peripheral skirt with an internal thread for securing the closure to a container finish, and an annular lip extending from the closure skirt adjacent to the base wall and defining an inside lip surface at an acute angle to the closure base wall. A liner is compression molded in situ onto the base wall and peripherally within the lip. The liner has a liner base portion extending along the base wall and a peripheral portion extending along the inside surface of the lip. The liner has an interior surface—i.e., facing away from the shell base wall and skirt—that has a first flat axially facing portion on the base portion of the liner adjacent to the peripheral portion, an inwardly concave portion where the base portion blends into the peripheral portion of the liner, a second flat axially facing portion at an edge of the peripheral portion of the liner, and a conical portion that extends from a radially outer edge of the second flat portion to the inside surface of the lip. Provision of the second flat axially facing surface portion at the periphery of the liner has been found to reduce tearing of the liner and separation of layers in the liner when the liner is of layered construction.
