摘要: In order to remove by burning captured PM by using microscopic luminescent discharge that repeats generation and extinction randomly in time and space on the surface of an insulating filter with a minimum power consumption and to enhance the capturing efficiency and combustion-removal efficiency of PM in exhaust gas from diesel engines or the like, at least one electrode pair (13) are arranged on or in the vicinity of the surface of an insulating capturing member (12) for capturing particulate matter (41) in exhaust gas, a predetermined voltage (Vs) is applied between the electrode pair (12) to generate a microscopic luminescent discharge (42) that repeats generation and extinction randomly in time and space on the surface of the insulating capturing member (12), and the microscopic luminescent discharge (42) generated by the application of this predetermined voltage (Vs) is used to remove by burning the particulate matter (41) captured on the insulating capturing member (12).

摘要: A gas treatment device (1), comprising a charging agglomeration part (10) which charges and agglomerates components targeted for collection in gas by utilizing corona discharge, and a filter part (20) which collects the agglomerated components. The charging agglomeration part (10) is disposed on the upstream side, and the filter part (20) is disposed on the downstream side. By this configuration, using the agglomerating functions and precipitating functions of corona discharge and the precipitating functions of filters, ultra-fine particulates can be agglomerated and enlarged. Moreover, the present invention is a gas treatment device that has high performance and low pressure-loss and that is capable of being configured in a compact form factor such that it can also be used as an exhaust gas purification device mounted onboard an automobile.

摘要: An exhaust gas processing method and an exhaust gas processing system for controlling the spatial density distribution of particulate matter in exhaust gas by utilizing corona discharge in exhaust gas containing floating particulate matter such as diesel engine exhaust gas to form a relatively particulate matter-rich area and a relatively particulate matter-lean area, and diving exhaust gas particulates to the former and the latter. An exhaust gas processing system (10) provided with a high-voltage electrode (12) and a low-voltage electrode (11), wherein exhaust gas G is allowed to flow between the facing high-voltage electrode (12) and low-voltage electrode (11), and a high voltage is applied to between the counter electrodes to generate corona discharge in the exhaust gas G, whereby floating particulate matter (20) in the exhaust gas G is charged, the spatial density distribution of the floating particulate matter in the exhaust gas is controlled by an electrostatic force between the counter electrodes, and the exhaust gas G is divided into a high-concentration exhaust gas Gb in the vicinity of the low-voltage electrode where a particulate matter concentration is relatively high and a low-concentration exhaust gas Ga in the vicinity of the high-voltage electrode where a particulate matter concentration is relatively low.

摘要: A filter is made with heat-insulating ceramic fibers, and where the filter is increased in pressure loss due to particulate matter captured after filtration of exhaust gas, gas flow is blocked, a heating element is used to heat the surface of the filter, thereby burning and removing particulate matter. The filter is of heat insulating properties, by which a heat insulating material is arranged near the particulate matter capturing face of the filter, and the heating element is incorporated between the surface of the filter and the heat insulating material. The filter can be regenerated at a higher heating efficiency in a smaller quantity of thermal energy. The heat insulating material is also used as a filter, by which the apparatus can be made more compact. A charging element is arranged upstream of the filter material, by which the filter material is increased in particulate matter capturing performance, thereby suppressing the rate of increase in the pressure loss and improving heating efficiency of particulate matter.
