    摘要: Picture quality measurement systems and methods are provided for measuring DC blockiness within video blocks. Block boundaries are located within a test video frame. The relative AC differences within each block are measured using a reference video frame, a statistically estimated reference or a default value of the white video level divided by two. An objective DC blockiness map, a subjective DC blockiness map or both may be generated.

    摘要: The picture coding method of the present invention is a picture coding method for coding a picture on a block-by-block basis, comprising: a selection step of selecting one of at least two sizes as a size of a block on which orthogonal transformation should be performed; a transformation step of performing orthogonal transformation on a block having the selected size; a coding step of coding data of said block obtained in the transformation step; and a generation step of generating a coded stream that includes the coded data of the block and size information concerning the size selected in the selection step, wherein the size information indicates whether or not the size is a fixed block size within a predetermined section in the coded stream, and the predetermined section is one of a sequence, a group of pictures, a picture, a slice, and a macroblock.

    摘要: A fast temporal alignment estimation method for temporally aligning a distorted video with a corresponding source video in order to perform accurate video quality measurements transforms each video into a corresponding signature curve by calculating a data point for each frame. The data points are calculated as a cross-correlation between a present frame and a subsequent frame in the video. The signature curves are then matched using a normalized cross-correlation algorithm to compute the temporal misalignment between the videos so that the video signals may be temporally aligned. Fast spatial alignment may then be performed and accurate video quality measurements made.
