    摘要: Predistortion methods and apparatus for transmitter linearization in a communication transceiver are disclosed. An example apparatus to linearize a digitally controlled pre-power amplifier included in a transmitter of a communication transceiver disclosed herein comprises a predistorter to predistort an input signal to be processed by the digitally controlled pre-power amplifier, a coupling path within the communication transceiver to couple an output of the digitally controlled pre-power amplifier to an input of a receiver included in the communication transceiver without enabling an output power amplifier stage of a multi-stage power amplifier coupled to an output of the digitally controlled pre-power amplifier, wherein no additional hardware components are required to implement the coupling path within the communication transceiver, and a predistortion evaluator comprising a predistortion calibrator and a predistortion compensator to process data demodulated by the receiver to generate and update predistortion values for use by the predistorter.

The method includes computing an error signal from a signal of a phase locked loop, wherein the error signal includes an aggressor signal. Transfer characteristics are computed for the aggressor signal. A transmitted signal is filtered using the transfer characteristics to produce a correction term. The correction term is applied to a frequency control word being provided to the oscillator.

The transmitter is configured to upconvert a transmit baseband modulated signal and generate an RF modulated signal having a transmit impairment. The auxiliary receiver is configured to downconvert the RF modulated signal and generate a receive baseband modulated signal having the transmit impairment. The auxiliary receiver is selectively configured to operate based on a control signal in a single-mixer mode when the transmitter is selectively configured to operate in a dual-mixer mode, and in the dual-mixer mode when the transmitter is selectively configured to operate in the single-mixer mode. The controller is configured to compare the transmit baseband modulated signal to the transmit impairment to determine an error difference therebetween, and generate the control signal based on the error difference.
