    摘要: A method of actuating, comprising: filling at least a portion of a tube (21) with a liquid (19) containing electrolytes, the tube (21) having an inner surface that is electrically chargeable when in contact with the liquid (19); positioning an object (28) in fluid communication with the liquid in the tube; and applying an electrical field (46) along a lengthwise axis across the tube at said portion for producing a pressure in the liquid. The pressure in the liquid exerts a force on the object so as to actuate the object (28, 30). An actuator (20) is also disclosed.

    摘要: This invention discloses a multi-point video conference system and the media processing method thereof. The multi-point video conference system includes a softswitch, an application server and terminals. The softswitch is responsible for protocol adaptation and calling process, and performing the interconnection with other systems as an external interface of the conference system. The application server is responsible for service logic control and charging. The characteristic of this invention lies in that: the terminals behaved as conference participants including a conference chairman and ordinary conference members. Any terminal registered on the softswitch could be a conference member, and the conference chairman must be a SIP soft terminal with video conference service capability in order to realize the media control. The invention realizes the media control on the basis of the soft terminal behaved as the conference chairman, therefore any terminal user that has registered on the softswitch can initiate or participate a multi-point video conference, and the participant terminal number of the video conference is not limited.

    摘要: Recent studies have demonstrated that lymphocyte-derived microparticles (LMPs) impair endothelial cell function. The present invention concerns the use of LMPs in the regulation of angiogenesis or diseases such as cancer or retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Having long been considered as cellular debris, microparticles constitute reliable markers of vascular damage. Released into biological fluids, microparticles are involved in the modulation of key functions including immunity, inflammation, vascular remodeling and angiogenesis. The present data demonstrates that LMPs have considerable impact on angiogenesis in vitro and in vivo. In view of this, LMPs may be important contributors to the pathogenesis of diseases that are accompanied by impaired angiogenesis and could thus influence vascular function (microvascular angiogenesis and vasopermeability of ischemic tissue, alerting the body for special attention and the need for emergency repair procedures.
