    摘要: A pump is disclosed, having a pumping chamber in the rotor. The rotor is rotatable between first, second, third and fourth positions. When the rotor is in the first position, an inlet cam assembly displaces a piston to draw fluid into the pumping chamber via a first housing inlet. When the rotor is in the second position, an outlet cam assembly displaces the piston to expel fluid out of the pumping chamber via a first housing outlet. When the rotor is in the third position, the inlet cam lobe assembly displaces the piston to draw fluid into the pumping chamber via a second housing inlet. When the rotor is in the fourth position, the outlet cam assembly displaces the piston to expel fluid out of the pumping chamber via a second housing outlet. A method of pumping fluid is also disclosed.

    摘要: An improved air compressor powered by water having an automatic water valve regulation mechanism. The air compressor includes a resiliently biased piston within a liquid chamber and a ram within a compression chamber, the ram being conjoined with the piston. Inlet and outlet valves for controlling the flow of water with respect to the liquid chamber are provided in one end of the compressor. Ports for the inlet and outlet valves are preferably aligned parallel to the axis of piston reciprocation such that water flows through the ports in the same direction as the direction of piston movement. The automatic valve regulation mechanism includes a positioning disc and positioning spring, together holding each of the water valves in one of two positions. The regulation mechanism further includes a drive shaft connecting the water valves and the positioning disc to pivot in unison between the two positions, a drive disc pivotally mounted for depressing the positioning spring, and a coil spring connected between the drive shaft and the drive disc. The regulation mechanism also includes a trip rod having one end connected to the drive disc and having a pair of spaced apart stops along its length for contact with the piston at each end of the piston travel.

    摘要: An automatic irrigation controller apparatus having a cam follower operated bank of pilot valves for operating selected pilot operated water valves throughout a watering or irrigation system is provided with a water powered means for receiving water under pressure from a source thereof and a member driven in a predetermined manner by the force of such water for driving a cam means to operate said cam followers via power transmission means between the water driven member and a cam shaft mounting said cam. A water piston is mounted in a cylinder with associated water valve means for selectively connecting the cylinder to a source of water under pressure and to a vent to provide a reciprocal movement for the piston, a return stroke for the piston being accomplished through the provision of a spring. A reciprocal piston movement is translated through a power transmission means including a drive ratchet wheel connected to the piston and a driven ratchet wheel connected to the cam shaft. An escapement mechanism is provided with a ring gear mounted about an engagement with a plurality of planetary gears mounted by a carrier about a sun gear driven by an input shaft of the apparatus connected to the cam shaft. Differences in the speed of rotation of the input shaft and the escapement means ring gear cause movement of the carrier which is connected to a valve restricting means for restricting the flow of water to the cylinder to regulate the speed of the water motor and rotation of the apparatus input shaft to that determined by the escapement mechanism.

    摘要: A mechanism for generating a high impact force for hammering, pounding, stamping, forging or similar operations. A piston is slidably mounted in a fluid pressure chamber, and has a larger cross sectional area at one end of the chamber than at the other end thereof. A fluid is introduced into the chamber under pressure, and exerts a net axial force on the large cross section end of the piston. One end of the piston outside the chamber forms a cam, which is engaged by a spring loaded cam follower to prevent axial movement of the piston until the force thereon exceeds a predetermined value. When the force on the piston exceeds said value, the cam is suddenly disengaged from its follower, permitting rapid movement of the piston under the fluid pressure. When the piston reaches the end of its travel, fluid is permitted to leave the chamber so that the pressure on the piston rapidly decreases, and the spring loaded cam follower acts on the cam to return the piston to its initial position.
