    Abstract: An improved sectional overhead garage door with an integral automatic opener and closer which comprises a plurality of horizontal sections which are hinged together on opposite sides in alternate fashion and wherein the panels are made strong and light by providing parallel sheets of plastic aluminum or steel which are held along the edges with aluminum extrusions and where the hollow insides of the panels are filled with foam to provide rigidity and strength. The door as it is opened folds up like an accordian with adjacent sections folding back upon themselves so that a very compact unit is provided.

    Abstract: A twin drum cable helical gear worm drive garage door opener which provides positive drive in either direction and ensures positive cable take-up and supply spool synchronization and ensures positive position relationship between the trolley and the operator head and has pre-assembled anchored cable ends which allow easy assembly and disassembly. The cable is oriented in the vertical plane which allows the point of cable latch to be in the same load/force plane and minimizes bowing of the support shaft under severe load conditions. The integral motor worm reels and support shaft results in a compact light weight unit and cable tensioning means are provided for allowing easy and simple adjustment of the unit when it is installed.

    Abstract: An improved closure operator as for example for a garage door opener wherein a motor is coupled to the drive shaft of the door at one end thereof to drive pull-up and pull-down pulleys and a clutch mechanism is provided between the drive motor and the drive shaft which can be decoupled by moving a lever arm so as to disconnect the motor from the drive shaft to allow the door to be manually opened or closed as, for example, in the event of power failure. The unit results in a substantial simplification over prior art garage door operators which require a rail and trolley mechanism for opening and closing the door.

    Abstract: Apparatus for use in applying wax to an object and/or polishing the object. The apparatus includes a housing, an electric motor positioned within the housing and an operating shaft driven by the motor. A generally disk-shaped pad holder has a hub connected to the operating shaft with a holder having a first surface facing the housing and a second surface facing away from the housing. The apparatus further includes a pad of sponge-like material carried by the holder and positioned against the second surface of the holder. The apparatus also includes a bonnet of cloth material positioned about the pad and having an elastic band adjacent its periphery for holding the pad to retain the bonnet in its installed position. The pad holder includes an annular lip adjacent the periphery of the holder with the lip extending towards the housing and radially outwardly so that the bonnet can in its installed condition engages the lip to locate the bonnet and limit its inward movement.

    Abstract: A mechanical disk-type door closure wherein one end of the closure is connected to a door and the other end is pivotally connected to a door jam such that when the door pivots about its hinge. The closure includes a rod upon which a rack is formed to cause a pinion to rotate in one direction and which is in mesh with a gear so as to move the pinion out of contact with the rack. When the door closes, a spring moves the pinion into engagement with the rack and the pinion turns in a direction to rotate the gear which is subjected braking pressure so as to adjust the resistance to the closing motion of the door.

    Abstract: An improved garage door opener which has an all plastic outer case in which is mounted a metal motor supporting bracket so as to add strength and rigidity. The unit utilizes a cable drive system which moves in a vertical loop which eliminates side to side racking of the rail and which allows a less expensive rail such as a tube to be used. The all plastic housing is designed so that when the cover is removed all components are accessible and the entire operator is easily serviced, the components fit into nested areas that are molded into the plastic housing. The limit and force adjustments are conveniently located and identified on the outside of the housing. A simplified improved hanging bracket is provided wherein the hanging bracket is attached to the metal motor supporting bracket which supports the motor and the gear housing on opposite sides thereof.
