    摘要: An image forming apparatus including: (a) a feed mechanism including a motor and a feeder moved by the motor for feeding a medium; (b) a recording head for ejecting an ink toward the medium to form an image; (c) a feed controller for controlling the motor so as to move the feeder to a target operating position that causes the medium to be positioned in a desired position; and (d) an ink ejection controller for causing ink ejection portions of the recording head to eject the ink toward the medium. The feed controller includes: a target-operating-position changer for changing the target operating position as an original target operating position to a modified target operating position in which influence of a cyclic variation of an operation velocity of the feeder is smaller than in the original target operating position. The ink ejection controller includes: an ink-ejection portion shifter for shifting the ink ejection portions in upstream or downstream direction in which the desired position is shifted as a result of change of the target operating position.

    摘要: An evaluation device for a rotary drive that evaluates periodic velocity fluctuation of the rotary drive is provided. The evaluation device includes a rotational velocity fluctuation detector, a reference signal generator, and a multiplier-accumulator. The rotational velocity fluctuation detector detects rotational velocity fluctuation relative to a reference velocity of the rotary drive. The reference signal generator generates a reference signal, in which the reference signal has a period and a phase angle. The multiplier-accumulator performs a multiply-accumulate operation between the rotational velocity fluctuation detected by the rotational velocity fluctuation detector and the reference signal generated by the reference signal generator, so as to detect a fluctuation intensity at the phase angle of a component having the period, in which the component is included in the rotational velocity fluctuation detected by the rotational velocity fluctuation detector.

The encoder fence is configured such that a plurality of light-transmitting portions and light-shielding portions are arranged alternately on a side of the encoder fence. The light-transmitting portions and the light-shielding portions are formed so that a first point on each boundary between each of the light-transmitting portions and each of the light-shielding portions adjacent to each other and a second point on the each boundary, which is positioned separately from the first point with respect to a direction along the side of the encoder fence and perpendicular to the conveying direction, are separately positioned with respect to the conveying direction.
