Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a volatile first memory, a non-volatile second memory, a hardware processor, a power supply and a delay unit, wherein the hardware processor executes a process defined by a program, after execution of the program ends, deletes data stored in the second memory by execution of the program by overwriting the stored data with predetermined data, in response to the generation of the stop trigger, stores data, stored in the first memory, in the second memory as a snapshot, in response to generation of a start trigger, transfers the snapshot stored in the second memory to the first memory, and in the case where prospective deletion data that is to be deleted is stored in the second memory in a stage where the stop trigger is generated, overwrites the prospective deletion data with the snapshot without overwriting the prospective deletion data with the predetermined data.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus includes: a touch-enabled display; a lock portion that locks the information processing apparatus; a display controller that displays a lock screen on the display, the lock screen having a first icon for unlock and one or more second icons each representing a function, and that refreshes the lock screen, when a user moves the first icon, such that the first icon is present at a different position; an unlock portion that unlocks the information processing apparatus; a recognition portion that recognizes a function as being selected, the function being represented by the one second icon or one of the second icons being present at the position where the user releases the first icon; a user information obtaining portion that obtains user information; and an authentication portion that conducts user authentication with the obtained user information while the user is moving the first icon.
Abstract:
A hardware processor of an image forming apparatus is able to obtain saving target information from a time of a power-off operation to a time of power supply interruption and to save the saving target information, in a nonvolatile storage of the image forming apparatus, as first snapshot data (for restoring a state at a predetermined time after firmware is activated). When a power-on operation is performed after the time of the power-off operation, the hardware processor determines whether to perform a first high-speed startup process using the first snapshot data as an apparatus startup process with respect to the image forming apparatus. When a determination is made to perform the first high-speed startup process, the hardware processor causes the display of the image forming apparatus to display, in a period in which a hardware initialization process in response to the power-on operation is being performed or immediately after the hardware initialization process is completed, an advance notice screen to be displayed before completion of startup in response to the power-on operation, the advance notice screen giving an advance notice that a transition to a user operable state following the power-on operation will be completed.
Abstract:
An MFP (an image forming apparatus) includes a main CPU that performs a predetermined process before switching the MFP to a power supply stop state, in response to a turn-off operation on a main power switch of the MFP, and a sub CPU that controls supply of power to individual units of the MFP in response to a command from the main CPU by a power relay and a power control IC. The sub CPU monitors the operating state of the main CPU after the turn-off operation on the main power switch. After the turn-off operation, even if a power supply stop command from the main CPU is not received, if a predetermined condition related to the result of the monitoring of the operating state of the main CPU is satisfied, the sub CPU performs forced turn-off control for forcibly stopping supply of power to the individual units.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: a nonvolatile storage device configured to store save target information related to the image forming apparatus as snapshot data in a power supply continuing period from a time of a power-off operation to a time of interruption of power supply; and a control unit configured to reduce a start-up time upon the next power-on operation, and accordingly start up the image forming apparatus fast, wherein the control unit upon the power-off operation being performed in a first working state of the image forming apparatus, executes a first snapshot acquisition process of storing save target information related to a first device group of the image forming apparatus, and upon the power-off operation being performed in a second working state where power consumption is less than the first working state, executes a second snapshot acquisition process of storing save target information related to a second device group.
Abstract:
An input device with improved operability in switching character types is provided. The input device includes a display unit configured to display an image of each key that constitutes a keyboard and is labeled with information for identifying the operation modes, and a touch panel configured to accept an input operation on an image of the keyboard. Each key is set so as to accept an input in accordance with an operation mode of the input device. The input device further includes a controller configured to, if an operation on the touch panel to indicate a predetermined direction is accepted, select an operation mode in accordance with the predetermined direction from the operation modes identified by the information labeled on the each key and allow the display unit to display the keyboard corresponding to the selected operation mode.
