    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention enable dynamic repartitioning of data storage in response to one or more triggers. In embodiments, a trigger may be a user-initiated action, a system-generated action, and/or an inference based on storage usage parameters. Applications of the present invention are its use in embodiments of a storage management system comprising a file system manager and a volume manager, where the placement of data into a partition (data storage region) may be specified by matching one or more disk region placement data attributes assigned to data with corresponding disk region attributes. In embodiments, dynamic repartitioning comprises adjustment of the location of the boundary between adjacent disk partitions and, if necessary, rebalancing of the data stored within the partitions by identifying mismatched data and relocating it to the partition with which it is associated.

    摘要: In a wireless transmission method, an input data signal corresponding to a serial combination of a first transmit data signal and a second transmit data signal is received. The first and second transmit data signals are phase-modulated with different first and second spreading code signals to produce first and second DSSS transmit signals, which are serially output as a baseband transmit signal that is up-converted to a selected wireless transmission frequency range. The first and second phase-modulated signals are serially output as a baseband transmit signal. In a wireless reception method, an input receive signal is down-converted to a baseband receive signal corresponding to a serial combination of first and second time-interleaved DSSS receive signals in a baseband frequency range. The first and second DSSS receive signals are phase-demodulated with different first and second de-spreading code signals to produce first and second receive data signals.

    摘要: Systems and methods of wireless communications between a peripheral and a mobile unit in a wireless network environment are described. In one aspect, a trigger frame is wirelessly transmitted in accordance with a wireless local area network (LAN) communications protocol in response to a determination to acquire data wirelessly from a target peripheral. The trigger frame reserves a wireless channel for a duration sufficient to meet a time needed by the target peripheral to transmit local data. The target peripheral awaits receipt of a trigger frame from a target mobile unit before wirelessly transmitting local data. In response to receipt of the trigger frame, the target peripheral transmits the local data to the target mobile unit over the wireless channel during the reserved duration in accordance with a wireless local area network (LAN) communications protocol.

    摘要: The present invention includes a food immersing apparatus adapted to be retrofit onto an open beverage container having walls continuously connected to a substantially horizontal base. The apparatus includes a holder defining an area adapted to hold food that fits within the container. An elongated member couples a handle to the holder. The elongated member extends out of the container, over its walls and down at least a portion of an exterior part of its walls. The handle can be attached to the elongated member at the top of the container or along the part that extends downward. The holder may include a basket defining drainage holes to allow liquid to drain from the basket upon removal from the container. A restraint or lid member may be added atop the food holder to secure the food during immersion in the liquid.

    摘要: A float controlled valve including a first body having a passage passing through it, the outlet end of the passage defining a valve seat, a co-operating second body having a closure member, the first body and second body being telescopically movable relative to each other while being in sealing contact to define a chamber including the valve seat and the closure member, and an outlet from said chamber, means being provided for moving the second body with closure member axially relative to the first body with valve seat to cause closing of the valve. A stop valve is built into the passage upstream of the valve seat to isolate the valve seat from supply pressure. The float has a short lever arm and the means for moving the second body comprises a pivotally mounted member supporting eccentrically of the pivot a transverse float arm having one end projecting from the pivotally mounted member and located for engagement with the second body to urge it towards a closed condition as the pivotally mounted member is rotated by a rising float associated with the float arm and means for adjusting axially the degree to which the said end projects from the pivotally mounted member. A loose closure element is free to be moved onto the valve seat when there is a reverse pressure gradient in the water in the valve, to provide a non return function.
