Abstract: An outdoor unit of an air conditioner may include a case that forms an outer shape of the outdoor unit; a controller that is disposed inside of the case and controls operation of various components of the air conditioner; a heat dissipation member connected to the controller to dissipate heat generated by the controller; and a support member that is coupled with the heat dissipation member to fix a position of the heat dissipation member, and having an insertion hole into which the heat dissipation member is inserted. The heat dissipation member is disposed to face the controller with respect to the support member, and at least a partial area of the heat dissipating member penetrates the insertion hole to prevent damage to a structure that dissipates heat of the controller to the outdoor unit of the air conditioner that is in contact with the controller.

Abstract: Disclosed is an air conditioner including a plurality of units having an outdoor unit and an indoor unit. The plurality of units includes a controller configured to control an input/output and control to operate according to setting and a communication unit configured to transmit and receive data in a wireless communication method between the plurality of units. The communication unit includes a plurality of antenna connection units respectively connected to the plurality of antennas, and a transmission/reception unit configured to apply a signal of a certain frequency band to the plurality of antennas through the plurality of antenna connection units, and to process a signal received from the plurality of antennas. The communication unit includes a plurality of antennas, and is configured to transmit and receive data through multiple input and output, so that the plurality of units can directly communicate wirelessly, specify a frequency of a signal used in consideration of obstacles in a building and installation distances, and perform multiple input and output by using the plurality of antennas, thereby achieving stable communication by securing communication coverage, and improving efficiency and stability according to the management and operation of the air conditioner.

Abstract: A method for controlling an air conditioner system may include receiving, by one of an outdoor unit and a plurality of indoor units in a group, a command; transmitting, by the outdoor unit, a channel scan command to the plurality of indoor units; performing a channel scan by each of the outdoor unit and the plurality of indoor units; transmitting, by the plurality of indoor units, channel scan results to the outdoor unit; determining, by the outdoor unit, a channel to be used among a plurality of pre-set channels of a particular group based on a result of the channel scan performed by the outdoor unit and the channel scan results received from the plurality of indoor units; and outputting, by the outdoor unit, information on the channel to the plurality of indoor units. According to this method, an optimal wireless communication channel may be set.

Abstract: A method for controlling an air conditioner system may include a preset reception rate degradation error occurs in one or more indoor unit, transmitting a channel switch request signal to an outdoor unit belonging to a particular group; performing a channel scan by each of the outdoor unit and the plurality of indoor units; transmitting, by the plurality of indoor units, channel scan results to the outdoor unit; determining, by the outdoor unit, a channel to be used by the particular group based on a result of a channel scan performed by the outdoor unit and the channel scan results received from the plurality of indoor units; and outputting, by the outdoor unit, information on the channel to the plurality of indoor units. Accordingly, the communication channel may be changed to an optimal communication channel according to a change a communication environment.
