An linear compressor and a linear motor for a linear compressor is provided. The linear compressor may include a shell, in which a suction inlet may be provided, a cylinder disposed in the shell to define a compression space for a refrigerant, a frame coupled to an outer side of the cylinder, a piston reciprocated in an axial direction within the cylinder, a stator cover coupled to the frame, and a linear motor supported by the frame and the stator cover to provide power to the piston. The stator cover may include a body, and at least one frame coupling portion coupled to the frame. The at least one frame coupling portion may extend from the body toward the frame.

A linear compressor includes a cylinder, a piston axially reciprocating in the cylinder, a first muffler unit coupled to the piston, a back cover that is disposed at a rear of the piston and defines an opening at a radially central area, and a second muffler unit coupled to the opening. The first muffler unit includes an inner guide disposed in the piston and a first intake muffler disposed at a rear of the inner guide. The second muffler unit includes a second intake muffler that communicates with the first intake muffler and is coupled to the opening, and a muffler body surrounding the second intake muffler. An outer circumferential surface of the second intake muffler defines a first communication hole communicating an inside of the second intake muffler with a space between the second intake muffler and the muffler body.

A piston of a linear compressor may include a surface treatment body made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy; a first surface treatment provided on an outer surface of the surface treatment body by a first vacuum deposition process; and a second surface treatment provided on an outer surface of the first surface treatment by a second vacuum deposition process.

The linear compressor may include a shell including a suction inlet, a cylinder provided in the shell to define a compression space for a refrigerant, a piston reciprocated in an axial direction within the cylinder, a discharge valve provided at one side of the cylinder to selectively discharge the refrigerant compressed in the compression space, at least one nozzle disposed in the cylinder to introduce at least a portion of the refrigerant discharged through the discharge valve into the cylinder, and at least one filter provided in the shell. The at least one filter may be disposed in a refrigerant passage defined from the suction inlet to the at least one nozzle via the discharge valve. Foreign substances or oil contained in the refrigerant introduced into the at least one nozzle may be filtered while passing through the at least one filter.

A cooling system and a refrigerator including a cooling system are provided. The cooling system may include a linear compressor including a reciprocating piston and a cylinder that accommodates the piston and having an outer circumferential surface, into which a refrigerant may be introduced, a refrigerant filter device provided in the linear compressor to filter the refrigerant introduced into one or more gas inflow of the cylinder, a condenser that condenses the refrigerant compressed in the linear compressor, and a dryer that removes foreign substances or oil from the refrigerant condensed in the condenser. The dryer may include a dryer body including a refrigerant inflow, through which the refrigerant condensed in the condenser may be introduced, and a refrigerant discharge, through which the refrigerant may be discharged, and an adsorption filter accommodated in the dryer body to filter the oil in the refrigerant introduced through the refrigerant inflow.
