    摘要: A method of data encoding is disclosed. A communications device receives a set of information bits to be encoded into a codeword (c), which includes the set of information bits and a set of parity bits. A first bit value is assigned to a first parity bit in the set of parity bits. The remaining parity bits are then encoded based, at least in part, on the first bit value assigned to the first parity bit. The device may encode the remaining parity bits using the set of information bits and a parity check matrix (H) for a low density parity check (LDPC) code. The device may also generate a new parity check matrix (H0) based on linearly independent rows of the parity check matrix H, and iteratively evaluate each of the remaining parity bits based on the equation: H0c=0. The device may then determine whether the encoded codeword c is a valid codeword given the LDPC code, and change one or more bit values of the codeword if c is not a valid codeword.

Subsequently, the multiple UEs may transmit assistance information to the base station based on attempting to decode the broadcasted encoded transmission. If the decoding is unsuccessful for at least one UE, the base station may then transmit an additional encoded transmission via a unicast or multicast message to the UEs that were unsuccessful. Additionally, the base station may transmit configuration information for the multiple UEs to receive the encoded transmissions and to transmit the assistance information. For example, the configuration information may include portion information for how long the encoded transmission is transmitted via the broadcast, via the unicast, when to transmit the assistance information, etc. In some cases, the configuration information may be based on UE metrics of the multiple UEs.

An encoding device (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or a base station) may divide one or more data units (e.g., packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) protocol data units (PDU)) into a set of data blocks. The encoding device may encode the set of data blocks using a fountain code and may generate a set of data units (e.g., radio link control (RLC) PDUs) based on encoding the set of data blocks using the fountain code. The UE may allocate a first subset of the set of data units to a first carrier and a second subset of the set of data units to a second carrier and may transmit the first subset over the first carrier and the second subset over the second carrier.

If a first transmission of the encoder fails, information bits associated with a lower quality channel may be retransmitted. At the decoder, the resulting decoded retransmitted bits may be used to decode the first transmission by substituting the retransmitted bits for the original corresponding (low quality channel) bits. In some aspects, to decode the first transmission, soft-combining is applied to the decoded retransmitted bits and the original corresponding (low quality channel) bits. In some aspects, CRC bits for a first transmission may be split between a first subset of bits and a second subset of bits. In this case, the second subset of bits and the associated CRC bits may be used for a second transmission (e.g., a retransmission).
