The cooperation refers to the fact that the wireless access networks provide duplicate coverage in a particular area when both wireless access networks are active, and that traffic can be switched between the cooperating networks in order to temporarily adjust (e.g. switch off) resources of one or the wireless access networks. In this manner, energy reduction and/or traffic routing can be obtained under the constraint that sufficient service coverage and capacity remains at an acceptable quality.

A fingerprint is generated based on the segment of the multimedia signal at a trigger time point. The generated fingerprint is stored in a database and communicated to the device. During playback of the multimedia signal, fingerprints of segments of the multimedia signal are generated and matched against fingerprints in the database. When a match is found, one or more associated actions for the segment are retrieved by the device. The trigger time point may be determined as a time point near or at the segment of the multimedia signal with the matched fingerprint. In this way, trigger markers for actions may be enabled without modifying the multimedia signal.

Hashes are short summaries or signatures of data files which can be used to identify the file. The disclosed method generates robust hashes for multimedia content, for example, audio clips. The audio clip is divided into successive (preferably overlapping) frames. For each frame, the frequency spectrum is divided into bands. A robust property of each band (e.g. energy) is computed and represented by a respective hash bit. An audio clip is thus represented by a concatenation of binary hash words, one for each frame. To identify a possibly compressed audio signal, a block of hash words derived therefrom is matched by a computer with a large database. Such matching strategies are also disclosed. In an advantageous embodiment, the extraction process also provides information as to which of the hash bits are the least reliable. Flipping these bits considerably improves the speed and performance of the matching process.

The invention relates to a method for generating a primary binary signal having a predetermined spectral shape in a predetermined frequency range, in particular having a notch in the power spectrum in a predetermined frequency range. In order to avoid crosstalk between a primary binary signal and a secondary binary signal it is proposed according to the invention that data-words are modulated into channel-words forming the channel bitstream of the primary binary signal and that the modulation of the data-words is chosen such that the predetermined spectral shape of the channel bitstream of the primary binary signal is achieved by using an evaluation criterion based on a spectral weight function the shape of which is tailored to the spectral extent of the channel bitstream of a secondary binary signal. The invention is in particular useful for generating a primary binary signal which is used in the lead-in area of an optical record carrier where a wobble is used in the secondary binary signal for storing a wobble key. The invention relates further to a device for generating the channel bitstream of a primary binary signal, to a primary binary signal and to a record carrier for storing such a binary signal.
