摘要： The disclosure concerns a method and apparatus for producing a suspension of fibrous material from waste-paper. Following dissolving the waste-paper, cleaning the dissolved suspension and stain removal, the suspension is floated in series of flotation cells. The suspension is first floated through a first series of flotation cells. Thinning liquid medium, such as water, is added to the suspension. It is then floated through a second series of flotation cells. In one embodiment, the cells of the second series are larger than the cells of the first series. Following the second series of cells, the material floated from the second cells is delivered to another cell. In another embodiment, the cells of the second series are themselves divided into two separate rows of cells and the suspension is divided among the rows of second cells. In this embodiment, following flotation through the second cells, the material floated from the second cells is next delivered to joint secondary cells.

摘要： In a pulping apparatus including a pulper with a rotor near the bottom therein, the pulper has a sluice outlet at the bottom for acceptable pulp suspension. Above the rotor at a corner of the pulper is a second outlet for suspension and dirt. A conduit leads from the second outlet to a horizontally oriented withdrawal apparatus chamber having a suspension agitating rotor at the end of the chamber opposite the entrance for pulp thereinto. A tangential outlet from the withdrawal apparatus chamber lead to a rotary, perforated sorting drum which permits exit of acceptable suspension and which has a rejected suspension and dirt outlet. A valve in the inlet to the withdrawal apparatus chamber is periodically and cyclically opened to permit periodic replacement of the suspension in the withdrawal apparatus chamber, and the suspension which has been agitated in the withdrawal apparatus chamber then moves to the sorting drum.

摘要： A process and plant for treating waste paper in which a beater is employed for rough-pulping the waste paper followed by a first sorting stage from which the separated-out foreign matter is processed further in a subsidiary circuit which includes a vibratory sorter for lightweight foreign matter and a hydrocyclone for heavy foreign matter, the fibers separated out during this further processing being returned again to the treatment process. In the first sorting stage, a sufficiently rigorous separation process is carried out to remove the greater part of the foreign matter, together with unpulped lumps of fibers, which is then passed to the subsidiary circuit in which it and half-stuffs still containing foreign matter, which have been sorted in the hydro-cyclone and in the vibratory sorter, are subjected together to a multi-stage further sorting and speck-removing process. The plant is characterized in that the strainer has such small holes that, in general, only pulped fibers can pass through it, and in that in the subsidiary circuit behind the vibratory sorter and the hydro-cyclone a second sorter is arranged, the half-stuff outlet duct from which opens out again in the treatment process.

摘要： A pressure sorter for a suspension flow includes a cylindrical housing having at least one inlet opening and at least one outlet opening with a defined pressure drop therebetween. A rotationally symmetric screen basket defining an axis is disposed within the housing. The screen basket has a plurality of openings defining a total screen perforation passage area. The axis of the screen basket is positioned offset a distance of 6 to 12% of the diameter of the screen basket. The axis of the screen basket is disposed in a plane which extends through the housing axis and is perpendicular to the housing outlet opening. A rotor and suspension sorting space are disposed centrically within the screen basket. An accepts space is disposed radially outward of the screen basket between the screen basket and the housing. The accepts space has a cross section causing a pressure drop between the suspension sorting space and the accepts space resulting in a suspension flow through the screen openings having a maximum velocity of 2.5 m/s, and a deviation to higher suspension flow velocity values from an arithmetic mean value based on the total screen perforation passage area across the entire screen basket circumference amounting to a maximum of 25% of the mean value.
