    摘要: Methods and Apparatus for enabling groups of patrons of localized physical establishments, such as restaurants and retail stores, to collaboratively select the sequence of musical media for public play. Some embodiments comprise receiving, at a centralized media server, a plurality of media request over a network from a plurality of separate personal portable computing devices, such as mobile phones. Each media request may comprise a media identifier, an establishment identifier and a customer identifier. In response to receiving such media requests, the centralized media server updates a listing of media files pending for play within a localized physical establishment associated with the establishment identifier. The centralized server also provides messaging functions, returning information to the portable computing devices of participating patrons, the information including for example, textual song dedications, song title and artist information, playlist lengths, and song popularity information.

    摘要: A system provides a first person video depiction of a planned travel route from a designated start location to a designated destination location in response to a user's travel planning request. A user interface receives a start location and a destination location for the travel route from a user. A routing component plans the travel route based between the start location and the destination location. A first person image database stores still images associated with locations between the start location and the destination location. The still images display first-person photographic imagery in a driving direction of the travel route. A video generator generates high-speed video media depicting at least a portion of the travel route from the start location to the destination location along a planned travel path. The video media is generated by sequencing a series of the still images associated with locations between the start location and the destination location. A display monitor displays the high-speed video media to the user.

    摘要: A system is provided for wirelessly transferring at least one data file in response to a detection of a flick gesture performed by a user. An electronic device to receive at least one data file from a handheld computing device. The handheld computing device includes (a) a display to display an icon corresponding to the at least one data file; (b) a touch screen to detect that an area of the display associated with the icon corresponding to the at least one data file is touched by a finger of a user; (c) a processor to determine whether the flick gesture is performed by the user; and (d) a communication element to transfer the at least one data file from the handheld computing device to the electronic device in response to the detected flick gesture. The flick gesture comprises the user touching the icon with a finger and then sliding the finger quickly across the display in a motion that feels to the user as if he or she is flicking the icon off the screen and to the electronic device.

    摘要: An apparatus, method and computer program product are provided which establishes a shake jamming portable media player in which a user can listen to a playing musical media file while simultaneously incorporating audio representations of percussion instrument sounds into an audio output stream by physically shaking the portable media player. In response to the physical shaking, the portable media player generates percussion audio signals which are mixed with an audio signal stream of a currently playing musical media file and output to the user. The shake jamming portable media player includes a processor, a memory functionally coupled to the processor, a motion sensor functionally coupled to the processor and configured to detect manual shaking motions imparted by a user on the portable media player, an instrument accompaniment program operatively loadable into the memory which includes instructions executable by the processor to cause a musical media file to be accessed from the memory and be currently played; identify a characteristic shake event from the detected manual shaking motions; generate an audio representation of an audio signal representing a striking or shaking sound of a percussion instrument in dependence on the identified characteristic shake event; mix the generated audio representation of the audio signal with an audio signal stream of the currently playing musical media file and output a resulting audio mixture to the user in near real-time relative to the identified characteristic shake event.

    摘要: A design interface tool for designing force sensations for use with a host computer and haptic feedback interface device. A haptic feedback device communicates with a host computer that displays the interface tool. The user selects and characterizes force sensations using the interface tool, and a graphical representation of the characterized force sensation is displayed. The characterized force sensation is output to a user manipulatable object of the force feedback device so that the user can feel the designed force sensation The user can include multiple force sensations in a compound force sensation, where the compound sensation is graphically displayed to indicate the relative start times and duration of each of the force sensations. The user can also associate a sound with the force sensation, such that the sound is output in conjunction with the output of the force sensation.
