摘要: Embodiments of a method and apparatus for advancing a media sheet are shown and described in which a media sheet is urged along a media path toward a first position and a second position. The second position is downstream from the first position along the media path. As a leading edge of the media sheet reaches the first position, the leading edge is prevented from passing the first position for an initial time period while the media sheet is being urged along the media path. As the leading edge reaches the second position, the leading edge is prevented from passing the second position for a subsequent time period while the media sheet is being urged along the media path.

摘要: The present invention generally relates to implantable medical devices, such as pacemakers, and, in particular, to a method and an implantable medical device capable of detecting the presence of noise caused by external noise sources. Voltages and/or impedances are measured over one or several electrode configurations. Based on the measured voltages and/or impedances, noise parameters are calculated, which are compared with reference values to detect the presence of noise. In another aspect of the invention, at least two different electrode configurations with different noise pick-up areas are used in the measurement. Relations between the noise parameters of the at least two vectors are calculated and compared with reference relations to detect the presence of noise.

摘要: An extruded, directly expanded, high fiber reduced calorie food product, such as a ready-to-eat (RTE) cereal or sweet or savory snack, is produced at high production rates without substantial loss of extrusion functionality and extrudability by replacing a substantial portion of at least one flour with a gelatinized, enzyme-resistant starch type III ingredient or bulking agent as a reduced-calorie, high fiber flour replacer. The resistant starch type III ingredient or bulking agent contains an enzyme-resistant starch type III having a melting point with an endothermic peak temperature of at least about 140° C., and may have a water-holding capacity of less than 3 grams water per gram of the starch-based bulking agent. The total dietary fiber retention of the gelatinized, starch-based bulking agent may be at least about 90% by weight after the extrusion using a die temperature of least about 100° C., and a die pressure of at least about 150 psig.

摘要: A method for manufacturing bread crumbs is provided which does not use a conventional staling step. The ingredients of bread dough are mixed together and baked to form bread loaves. The unstated bread is then subjected to a heat conditioning step to create a bread crumb product with qualities similar to bread crumb products produced using a conventional staling step. Thereafter, the bread may be further processed to form smaller bread crumbs, dried, and packaged for sale. As a result, no time-consuming staling step is needed in order to produce a bread crumb product having desirable qualities similar to those of bread crumb products that have been subjected to a conventional staling step.

摘要: To compensate for temperature dependent variations and process variations in surface resistance of a main resistor (R1) on a chip (1), one or more compensating resistors (R11, R12. . . R1n) can be connected in series with the first resistor (R1) via normally open switches (SR11, SR12. . . SR1n). The switches are closed to connect one or more of the compensating resistors (R11, R12. . . SR1n) in series with the main resistor (R1) in response to whether the voltage across resistors (R21, R22. . . R2n) produced on the chip (1) in the same process and proportional to the compensating resistors (R11, R12. . . R1n) is higher or lower than a fixed reference voltage (VR3).
