摘要： A filter element for filtering a fluid has a filter bellows arranged about the longitudinal axis of the filter element and enclosing an interior of the filter element. A first end disk open toward the interior is arranged at a first end of the filter element. A second closed end disk is arranged at a second end of the filter element. The second end is oppositely positioned to the first end in a direction of the longitudinal axis. The filter bellows has folds with radially outer fold edges positioned on an outer circumferential surface of the filter bellows. The filter bellows is provided with a notch at least at one of the first and second ends. The notch has an axial length in the direction of the longitudinal axis. The axial length is shorter than a length extension of the filter bellows in the direction of the longitudinal axis.

The thread is a multiple-wound yarn. In a method for manufacturing the filter element, a thread in the form of a multiple-wound yarn is attached by an adhesive material to fold edges of a zigzag-shaped folded filter material. In the method, the thread is soaked and/or coated with the adhesive material that is in a plastic state. The thread soaked and/or coated with the adhesive material is attached to the fold edges by applying a pressure, and the adhesive material is hardened.

The filter body has a zigzag-folded filter medium arranged about the longitudinal axis, wherein the filter body has an inner circumference and an outer circumference and fold edges of the filter medium are positioned on the inner circumference and/or the outer circumference. The filter body further has a securing coil of at least one circumferentially extending thread applied onto the outer circumference. The fold edges have, at least over sections thereof, several embossments arranged such that the fold edges that are next to each other are secured relative to each other by the embossments.
