The bypass arrangement can be operated by a controller based on at least one input signal corresponding to one or more of a vehicle speed, a vehicle engine speed, a vehicle engine load, an operator input, a vehicle location, an air pressure drop across a filter element, an air pressure drop across the precleaner assembly, an acoustic level, a vibration level, a change or cleaning frequency of the filter element, a total number of filter element changes, an identity of the filter element, an identity of the engine, an identity of the vehicle, an air flow rate through the precleaner assembly or through the filter element, and a weather condition parameter identified through data received locally or from a weather service.

摘要： An air filter assembly includes a housing having an interior surface that defines an interior volume, a filter element positioned within the interior volume and having a filter media, an air intake formed in the housing, a debris outlet formed in the housing, a filtered air outlet formed in the housing, and a plurality of ribs. The filter element is spaced from the interior surface so that a gap is formed between the filter element and the interior surface to allow air to flow between the filter element and the interior surface. The plurality of ribs extend into the interior volume of the housing so that air flowing from the air intake is directed into the gap and around the filter element to complete a cyclonic filtering pass before flowing along a second airflow pass through the filter element. The outlet passage is configured to direct filtered air into a third airflow pass in a direction opposite to the second airflow pass.

摘要： A precleaner for use in an air intake system is described, the precleaner comprises a cyclone which defines a volume, the cyclone comprising an inlet and an outlet. The inlet and the outlet are arranged to generate a vortex within the volume of the cyclone when the air pressure at the outlet is lower than the air pressure at the inlet. The cyclone further comprises an aperture. The precleaner further comprises a blocking member arranged to move and concomitantly occlude the aperture only when the air pressure at the outlet is lower than the air pressure at the inlet. An air intake system comprising the precleaner is also disclosed.

The system includes a generally horizontal fan assembly located atop the harvesting combine for drawing in air, a radiator associated with the engine and over which air flows for engine cooling, and charge air coolers for combustion air cooling, and air conditioning and hydraulic coolers, a centrifugal scroll that takes the drawn in air and removes entrained particles to produce a clean exhaust air and dirty exhaust air; and a filter assembly through which the pre-cleaned exhaust air flows for producing filtered air for admittance into the engine for combustion.

摘要： A centrifugal separator for separating particles from a fluid has a housing with an inflow opening and an outflow opening. Guide blades that generate a turbulent flow in a fluid flowing into the housing through the inlet opening are provided. The guide blades each have a leading edge. The leading edge of a first guide blade has a first spacing to a cross-sectional plane of the housing and the leading edge of a second guide blade has a second spacing relative to the cross-sectional plane of the housing, wherein the cross-sectional plane is perpendicular to an inflow direction of the fluid. The first spacing and the second spacing are different from each other. The first and second guide blades each have a length and the lengths differ from each other. Several centrifugal separators can be combined to a filter device.

The filter medium has a variable flow resistance along the longitudinal axis.

The system also includes a controller configured to receive a first signal indicative of an air intake flow rate of the engine, to determine a target number of open tubes for the pre-cleaner based at least in part on the air intake flow rate and a desired air flow rate for each tube of the plurality of tubes, and to output a second signal to a component of the air intake system indicative of instructions to enable the flow of air to the target number of open tubes and to block the flow of air to the remainder of tubes of the plurality of tubes.

摘要： A cyclone separator has a cyclone arrangement with individual cyclones each provided with a cell tube and guide device. The guide device causes a gas stream passing through the cell tube to rotate. At least one particle discharge is positioned perpendicularly to a longitudinal axis of the cyclone separator and discharges separated particles that have been separated from the gas stream in the cyclone arrangement. The cell tubes, for a targeted discharge of the separated particles, each have at least one particle outlet opening that is facing the particle discharge. The particle outlet openings of at least some of the individual cyclones, neighboring each other in the direction of a first perpendicular line that is perpendicular relative to the longitudinal axis of the cyclone separator, are displaced relative to each other in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the cyclone separator.
