摘要: A cylinder block (3) includes an inlet portion (36), a narrow portion (42), and an inclined portion (43). A cylinder head includes a head-side discharge portion. The inlet portion is formed on the first cylinder side of a cylinder array, and introduces coolant to a block-side water jacket (33). The narrow portion is formed in the vicinity of the inlet portion, and restricts the coolant introduced through the inlet portion from flowing to an intake-side channel (35) of the block-side water jacket. The inclined portion is formed in the vicinity of the inlet portion, and guides the coolant introduced through the inlet portion toward the head. The head-side discharge portion is formed on the fourth cylinder side of the cylinder array, and discharges the coolant from a head-side water jacket. A communication path for communicating between the water jackets is formed on the head side of the inclined portion.

摘要: The present invention is configured such that: a cylinder block includes an introducing portion provided at a first side of a cylinder row, cooling liquid being introduced through the introducing portion to a water jacket, a restrictor portion provided in a vicinity of the introducing portion and configured to restrict the cooling liquid, introduced through the introducing portion, from flowing to an intake-side portion of the water jacket, and a discharging portion provided at a middle portion of the cylinder row at an intake side, the cooling liquid being discharged from the water jacket through the discharging portion; and an exhaust-side portion of the water jacket is formed such that a passage cross-sectional area of a cylinder axis direction upper side of the exhaust-side portion is larger than the passage cross-sectional area of a cylinder axis direction lower side of the exhaust-side portion.

摘要: A cooling structure of a multi-cylinder engine is provided, which includes a water jacket formed in a cylinder block to surround cylinder bores of cylinders arranged inline, a spacer, and a coolant inlet. The spacer includes openings at positions corresponding to inter-cylinder-bore portions and a rectifying part extending outwardly on a lower side of the openings. The rectifying part inclines continuously upwardly while extending in one of an exhaust- and intake-side section of the jacket from a first end side to a second end side that is the opposite side from the first end side in a cylinder line-up direction, extending on the second end side from the one of the exhaust- and intake-side sections to the other one of the exhaust- and intake-side sections, and then extending from the second end side to the first end side in the other one of the exhaust- and intake-side sections.

摘要: Disclosed is an engine cooling system which comprises: a head-side circulation pathway through which coolant from a water pump is circulated via a water jacket of a cylinder head and an EGR cooler; a block-side circulation pathway through which the coolant from the water pump is circulated via a water jacket of a cylinder block; and a switching valve unit operable, during cold operation of the engine, to pass the coolant from the water pump, along the head-side circulation pathway, and, when a temperature of the engine is raised up to a predetermined value, to pass the coolant from the water pump, along not only the head-side circulation pathway but also the block-side circulation pathway.

摘要: A cooling structure of a multi-cylinder engine is provided, which includes cylinder bores formed in a cylinder block, a water jacket surrounding the bores, a cylinder head, and a water jacket spacer accommodated in the water jacket and having a peripheral wall formed corresponding to the cylinder bores. A length of the peripheral wall in cylinder bore axial directions is substantially the same as that of the water jacket. The peripheral wall forms, inside the water jacket, inner and outer channels, and a width of the inner channel is less than that of the outer channel. Communicating holes communicating the inner and outer channels are formed in the peripheral wall at locations between adjacent cylinder bores, respectively. Inter-bore channels into which some cooling fluid flowing from the outer channel into the inner channel flows are provided to parts of the cylinder block between the adjacent cylinder bores, respectively.

The spacer has a flow dividing rib extending outwardly from the vertical wall surface and for vertically dividing the coolant flow, introduced from the inlet to an intake- or exhaust-side section of the first jacket, toward the second jacket through a communication hole formed in the gasket and toward a discharging section provided to the cylinder block.
