Abstract: A method including determining a maximum luminance location of a display based on a field of view of an eye of a user of the display, and driving a plurality of light sources in the display based on locations of the plurality of light sources with respect to the maximum luminance location of the display. The plurality of light sources is controlled to have different luminance levels in different display zones corresponding to different zones on the retina of the eye of the user. In some examples, the display zones of the display system that have higher luminance levels can be dynamically changed based on the field of view or the gaze direction of the eye of the user.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to coordinating operation of an under-display camera and a portion of a display panel over the camera to reduce impact of light emitted from the display panel during light sensing periods of the under-display camera. Depending on the level of light in the surrounding of an electronic device, the light emission period of the display panel and the light sensing period of the under-display camera are adjusted. The timing of the light emission period and the light sensing period are controlled so that a row of pixels in the display panel is not in the light emission period when corresponding row or rows of sensors in the under-display camera are in the light sensing period. In this way, the under-display camera may capture images without the influence of light emitted from the display panel.

Abstract: A system includes a display panel, a temperature sensor configured to measure a temperature of the display panel, a thermoelectric device coupled to the display panel and configured to transfer heat to or from the display panel, and a controller electrically coupled to the temperature sensor and the thermoelectric device. The controller is configured to receive the measured temperature of the display panel and, based on the measured temperature of the display panel, send a second signal to the thermoelectric device to cause the thermoelectric device to remove a first quantity of heat from the display panel or send a third signal to the thermoelectric device to cause the thermoelectric device to provide a second quantity of heat to the display panel.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a display system includes forming a display element having a display active area over a silicon backplane, forming a display driver integrated circuit (DDIC), and bonding the display element to the display driver integrated circuit (DDIC). The display active area may include a light emitting diode such as an organic light emitting diode (OLED). Separately forming the display and the display circuitry may simplify formation of the OLED and allow for a higher density control interface between the display and the DDIC.

Abstract: Described is a system including a display, a display controller, and control logic communicatively coupled to the display. The display controller determines, based on coordinates of a focus point on the display, boundaries of a first image region and a second image region in an output image to be rendered. The focus point is determined through tracking an eye movement of a user viewing the display. The first image region has a higher resolution than the second image region. The display controller is configured to send image data together with control signals to the control logic. The control signals cause the control logic to render the output image on the display using the image data. As part of rendering the second image region, the control logic outputs a shared signal onto signal lines that are coupled to light sources in a group of adjacent rows or columns.

Abstract: Example devices may include a display (such as an emissive display), and a controller, where the controller is configured to determine an image content parameter for a displayed image shown on the display, and adjust a duty ratio of the display based on the image content parameter. The duty ratio may be dynamically adjusted based on, for example, an image content parameter that may be related to the brightness of the image, or a portion thereof. The controller may be configured to determine an image content parameter for each of one or more portions of a displayed image, and adjust a duty ratio for corresponding parts of the display based on the image content parameter associated with the respective one or more portions of the displayed image.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a pixel circuit with a burn-in compensation. The pixel circuit includes a light-emitting diode (LED), a first driving transistor between a voltage source and the LED, a switching transistor coupled to a gate electrode of the first driving transistor, and a second driving transistor connected between the voltage source and the LED. The first driving transistor provides first current from the voltage source to the LED according to a gate voltage of the first driving transistor. The switching transistor is turned on after receiving an enable signal. The second driving transistor provides second current from the voltage source to the LED according to a version of the gate voltage of the first driving transistor received at a gate of the second driving transistor via the switching transistor.

The pixel circuit includes a light-emitting diode (LED), a first driving transistor between a voltage source and the LED, an enable transistor coupled to a gate electrode of the first driving transistor, and a second driving transistor connected between the voltage source and the LED. The enable transistor turns on responsive to a voltage level at an anode of the LED increasing to a threshold voltage level. The second driving transistor provides second current from the voltage source to the LED according to a version of the gate voltage of the first driving transistor received at a gate electrode of the second driving transistor via the enable transistor.
