摘要: In the surface-coated cutting tool, a Ti compound layer containing at least nitrogen and carbon is formed on a surface of cutting tool substrate, a nitrogen concentration in the Ti compound layer, in a case of being measured in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the cutting tool substrate in a vicinity of a cutting edge, gradually increases as a distance from cutting tool substrate increases within a range of 0.20 μm from the surface of the cutting tool substrate toward the Ti compound layer, an average concentration gradient of the nitrogen concentration is 20 at %/μm or more and 300 at %/μm or less, and an average nitrogen concentration in the Ti compound layer in the vicinity of the cutting edge is lower than an average nitrogen concentration in the Ti compound layer at a position of a flank face away from the cutting edge by 3 at % or more.

摘要: A composite sintered body cutting tool, in which tungsten is reduced, is made of a TiCN-based cermet and WC-based cemented carbide. The cutting tool has an angle of less than 90 degrees formed by a rake face and a flank face. The rake face including a cutting edge contains WC-based cemented carbide including 4% to 17% by mass of iron group metal components with a remainder being WC. The thickness of the carbide is 0.05 to 0.3 times the thickness of the composite sintered body. The TiCN-based cermet which is a base body of the cutting tool includes 4% to 25% of the iron group metal components, less than 15% of W, 2% to 15% of Mo, 2% to 10% of Nb, and 0.2% to 2% of Cr. The cermet may contain iron group metal Co and Ni, where, Co/Co+Ni is 0.5 to 0.8.

摘要: A composite sintered body cutting tool is made of a composite sintered body comprising a TiCN-based cermet layer; and a WC-based cemented carbide layer. The angle between the rake face and the flank face of the cutting tool is 90°. The rake face including a cutting edge of the cutting tool is constituted from the WC-based cemented carbide layer, in which 4 to 17 mass % of an iron group metal component and 75 mass % or more of W are included; and a major hard phase component is WC. The thickness of the WC-based cemented carbide layer is 0.05 to 0.3 times the thickness of the composite sintered body. The TiCN-based cermet layer is constituted from a single layer of a TiCN-based cermet layer, including at least, 4 to 25 mass % of an iron group metal component, less than 15 mass % of W, 2 to 15 mass % of Mo, 2 to 10 mass % of Nb and 0.2 to 2 mass % of Cr in a case where contents of the constituting components of the cermet layer are expressed as contents of metal components, and satisfy the Co content relative to the total content of Co and Ni of 0.5 to 0.8 with respect to Co and Ni of the iron group metal component in a mass ratio. When the height profile from the upper end to the lower end of the flank face is measured in the plane, which passes the center of the rake face of the cutting tool and is perpendicular to both of the rake face and the flank face, as the line, which passes the ridge line where the rake face and the flank face intersect and perpendicular to the rake face, being the reference line, the maximum elevation difference value of the height profile is in a ratio of 0.01 or less with respect to the thickness of the composite sintered body from the front surface of the rake face to a rear surface.

摘要: A surface-coated cutting tool in which a hard coating layer exhibits exceptional adhesion resistance and anomalous damage resistance is provided. This surface-coated cutting tool includes a tool body composed of a WC based cemented carbide or a TiCN based cermet; and at least one hard coating layer provided on a surface of the tool body, and; 1) the hard coating layer includes at least one complex nitride layer, 2) the complex nitride layer contains 0.001 to 0.030 atom % of chlorine, 3) in the complex nitride layer, an area ratio of longitudinal crystal grains having an aspect ratio equal to or greater than 2 occupying a longitudinal cross section is 50% or more, and 4) a layer thickness of the complex nitride layer is 0.2 μm to 20 μm.
