Abstract: A method and apparatus for intelligently alerting individuals within a public-safety communication system is provided herein. During operation a query result is determined to have certain keywords. When this happens, prior conversations of individuals over various talkgroups are analyzed. The query terms and/or the query result are compared to the prior conversations, and a determination is made if any prior conversations are relevant to the query terms and/or the query results. If so, identities are determined for those individuals who were involved in the relevant prior conversations, and a notification of the results of the query are sent to electronic devices associated with the individuals who were involved in the relevant prior conversations.

Abstract: A system and method for displaying an image of an object of interest located at an incident scene. The method includes receiving, from the image capture device, a first video stream of the incident scene, and displaying the video stream. The method includes receiving an input indicating a pixel location in the video stream, and detecting the object of interest in the video stream based on the pixel location. The method includes determining an object class, an object identifier, and metadata for the object of interest. The metadata includes the object class, an object location, an incident identifier corresponding to the incident scene, and a time stamp. The method includes receiving an annotation input for the object of interest, and associating the annotation input and the metadata with the object identifier. The method includes storing, in a memory, the object of interest, the annotation input, and the metadata.

Abstract: A device, system and method for causing a notification device to provide an indication of a searched area is provided. A device comprises: controller; and a communication unit configured to communicate with one or more sensors, the one or more sensors configured to track: a path of a user; and one or more of a reach of the user and hand location of the user. The controller receives, from the one or more sensors, via the communication unit, sensor data indicative of the path and one or more of the reach and the hand location of the user at a location. Abstract: A device, system and method for causing an output device to provide information for voice command functionality is provided. A controller determines when a received textual term, received at the controller via one or more of an input device and a communications unit, is phonetically similar to one or more existing textual terms used for activating functionality at a communication device using a voice recognition algorithm. When the received textual term, are phonetically similar to one or more existing textual terms, the controller: generates one or more suggested textual terms, related to the received textual term, that minimizes phonetic similarities with the one or more existing textual terms; and causes an output device to provide an indication of the one or more suggested textual terms to use in place of the received textual term.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling an electronic device using a rotary control. The method includes receiving, by an electronic processor from an inductance sensor, a first inductance. The method further includes adjusting, by the electronic processor, the control function based on the delta.
