    摘要: An automatic head gap adjustment device for a printer has a plunger that protrudes beyond the print head toward the platen, a linear transducer that detects the amount by which the plunger is depressed, and a motor for widening and narrowing the head gap by moving the print head or platen. A controller drives the motor forward, narrowing the head gap, until the signal output by the transducer changes by a certain amount, then drives the motor in reverse for a fixed amount, widening the head gap, then preferably drives the motor forward again by a smaller fixed amount to take up play in the drive mechanism. This device adjusts the head gap accurately despite changes in ambient conditions.

    摘要: The present invention is characterized in that the separating hook and hopper roller are adapted to be mounted on sheet guides of the hopper, one end of said sheet guide being adapted to be engaged in a groove of a pressure sleeve so as to make said pressure sleeve movable along said end. A movable shaft is adapted to pass through said pressure sleeve, and a spring is provided between said pressure sleeve and said sheet guide which biases the pressure sleeve to the hopper roller side, whereby at least the hopper roller, separating hook, pressure sleeve and spring at the print line end are made movable with the sheet guide being moved; thus by manually moving only one of the sheet guides, the sheet guides are made to meet right and left ends of the sheet, and the hopper roller is also made to select the correct position of the symmetrically central position of sheet width.

Separating these zones on the recording surface allows independent optimization of the topology to maximize both recording characteristics and mechanical durability. The landing or contact start stop zone has an average surface roughness greater than that of the data zone. Preferably, a transition zone extends between the contact start stop zone and the data zone, the transition zone varying between the two in average surface roughness. Preferably, the contact start stop zone is textured first, followed by the data zone, thereby ensuring uniform stiction performance. Texture machines for producing such zone texturing and texturing methods are also provided.
