摘要: Disclosed is a variable valve mechanism 10 for changing the lift amount and operating angle of an internal combustion engine valve disc 12. The variable valve mechanism comprises a first cam 54, which rotates in accordance with crankshaft rotation; a transmission member 24, 38 that includes a second cam 32, 34, which oscillates in synchronism with the rotation of the first cam 54 and transmits the force exerted by the first cam 54 to the valve disc 12; a control shaft 40, which is adjusted for a predetermined rotation position; an adjustment mechanism 36, 38 for varying the lift amount and operating angle of the valve disc 12 by changing the oscillation range of the transmission member 24, 38 in accordance with the rotation position of the control shaft 40; a lost motion spring 60 for pressing the transmission member 24, 38 toward the first cam 54 to ensure that the transmission member 24, 38 remains coupled to the first cam 54; and an assist spring 64 for pressing the transmission member 24, 38 in resistance to the force exerted by the lost motion spring 60.

摘要: A variable valve mechanism is installed to change the operating angle and lift amount of an intake valve in accordance with the rotation position of a control shaft. A worm wheel is secured to the control shaft. The worm wheel is coupled to a motor actuator via a worm gear. The motor actuator is controlled during a normal operation so that the rotation position of the control shaft changes within a normal rotation range. A low-end stopper and high-end stopper are installed outside the normal rotation range to mechanically restrict the rotation of the control shaft.

摘要: Intake camshafts 10, 14 for driving valve bodies 32 (intake valve) are positioned in right- and left-hand banks, respectively. A variable valve mechanism 30 is positioned in each of the right- and left-hand banks in such a manner as to form mirror-image symmetry. The variable valve mechanism 30 includes a control shaft 60 for controlling the operating angle of the valve body. The respective control shafts in the right- and left-hand banks are controlled in symmetrical directions. The right- and left-hand intake camshafts 10, 14 rotate in opposite directions and at a speed that is synchronized with the speed of a crankshaft.

摘要: A variable valve operating device that makes it possible to reduce the loss in driving force transmission from a camshaft to a valve during a valve lift is provided. The rotary motion of a drive cam is transmitted to a swing member via intermediate rollers. A coupling member couples the intermediate rollers, to a swing fulcrum that is fastened to a control shaft. The swing fulcrum is positioned eccentrically to the center of the control shaft. Further, when the control shaft is positioned at a predetermined rotation position, the swing fulcrum is positioned so that the control shaft is placed between the swing fulcrum and the intermediate rollers. Preferably, the swing fulcrum, the control shaft, and the intermediate rollers are aligned.

摘要: A variable valve operating device is provided that allows an ideal valve timing-lift characteristic to be realized by associating a change in a valve timing with a change in a valve lift amount. A rotation motion of a drive cam is transmitted to a slide surface of a swing member via an intermediate member. Positions of the intermediate member on the slide surface are varied in association with the rotation of a control shaft by an interlock mechanism. The slide surface is formed to be curved toward the drive cam so that the distance from the center of a camshaft increases toward the farthest point from the swing center of the swing member within the area which the intermediate member contacts from the nearest point from the swing center of the swing member within the area which the intermediate member contacts.

摘要: The present invention provides a compact variable valve operating device that is capable of mechanically changing the operating characteristic of a valve. The rotation motion of a camshaft is input to the valve via a swing member. A slide surface is formed on the swing member. Intermediate members are positioned in contact with both the slide surface and drive cam surface. A support member for supporting the intermediate members is mounted on a control member. The control member can rotate in relation to the camshaft and is interlocked with a control shaft via rotation interlock mechanisms. When the control member rotates in coordination with the rotation of the control shaft, the intermediate members move along the drive cam surface and slide surface. The operating characteristic of the valve then changes in coordination with a positional change of the intermediate members.
