    摘要: An improvement in a closure system for containers in which a cap member sealed at its base to an annular flange about the neck of the container is removeable by a cutting ring. The cap includes an upwardly projecting brim at the base separated from the side wall of the cap to provide an annular groove. The groove has at least one tapered recess. The cutting ring which can be positioned around the side wall of the cap has at least one depending tab with an inwardly directed sharpened projection. Normally, the tab rests in the recess of the groove. Upon rotation of the cutting ring, the tab is forced inwardly causing the sharpened projection to sever the side wall of the closure.

    摘要: An improvement in a flow control device for permitting fine adjustment of flow rates of fluid in tubing and maintaining established rates of flow. The device includes a clamping member pivotally mounted adjacent a clamping surface and a tubing-engaging surface on the clamping member which progressively closes the orifice of tubing as the clamping member is rotated in one direction. Coacting means on the clamping member cooperate with actuating means on a force-inducing member mounted for rotational movement on the body of the device. The coacting means is located at a point from the point of pivotal attachment of the clamping member which is at least twice the distance from the pivotal attachment to the tubing-engaging surface. Thus a large movement at the coacting point translates into a small movement of the tubing-engaging surface and results in fine adjustment of flow rates. Preferably, the device includes a segment of elastomeric tubing which is secured within the device on which the clamping surfaces react.

    摘要: A dental flossing tool which is constructed to utilize the conventionally available dental floss containing containers. The tool includes a support for the container. The tool also has an elongated member which is bifurcated at its outer end. Openings are formed within the legs of the bifurcated end. Dental floss is to be strung from the container along the surface of the elongated member through the openings resulting in the dental floss being tautly stretched across the legs. The free end of the dental floss is tightly wrapped around a protruding member which is integrally formed on the surface of the elongated member. The protruding member also includes a restrictor which restricts the pulling movement of the strand through the tool to facilitate tautly stretching of the dental floss across the gap.

    摘要: A tree sap collection system which comprises a main conduit extending through a grove of trees with branch conduits extending from the main conduit to each tree. Each branch conduit is connected to the main conduit through a coupling. The coupling includes a plurality of equiangularly spaced-apart connectors with each connector to engage with a separate branch conduit. Each branch conduit terminates in a spout. The spout is to be inserted within a hole formed within a tree. The spout is to be connectable with a closure device when the spout is not in use. The closure device includes a frame which connects with a plug which is located within the access opening of the spout and extends around the exterior of the spout for tightly retaining the plug within the access opening of the spout.
