摘要: A multi-cyclone gas/solids separator with reduced solids re-entrainment is disclosed. The separator uses a plurality of cyclones spaced horizontally apart from adjacent cyclones to process flue gas containing residual catalyst fines. Each cyclone has a body that has a feed inlet end for admitting gas and entrained solids into an annular space defined by a sidewall of the cyclone body and a cylindrical gas outlet tube axially aligned with the cyclone body. A solids outlet at an opposing end of the cyclone body has a tangential outlet for solids and a minor amount of gas through a sidewall of the cyclone body. A gas reflux opening is axially aligned with the outlet tube. The plurality of cyclones share both a common catch chamber for solids discharged from the solids outlet, and a common manifold for gas and entrained solids. A plurality of shields are positioned in the catch chamber to inhibit discharge of solids from the tangential outlet of the adjacent cyclones into a vicinity of an inlet of the gas reflux opening.

摘要: An apparatus for machining the ends of a component includes a plurality of work stations, and a transport mechanism for moving the component along a path to the plurality of work stations. The transport mechanism is positioned to be inboard of the ends of a component. At least one of a first work station or a second work station of the plurality of workstations includes a first fixturing portion for holding a first end, and a first machine for carrying out machine operations on the first end. The first fixturing portion and the first machine are movable in a direction transverse to the path. A method of manufacturing components having two ends that are machined at both ends of a component includes conveying the component to a first work station along a path, moving a first fixture in a direction substantially transverse to the path to a position for holding one end of the component, and moving a first machine in a direction substantially transverse to the path to a position for machining one end of the component.

摘要: A device and method solves the problems of improving precision, in particular in reducing movement of a cuvette, particularly lateral or side to side movement of a cuvette, during the measurement process. The device, which stabilizes a cuvette during a measurement read in an analyzer having a cuvette path of travel, includes: a fixed support located on a first side of the path of travel and abutting a side of the cuvette at a location that does not interfere with an optical window on the cuvette on which the measurement read takes place; and a movable support located on a second side of the path of travel and biased against a side of the cuvette at a location that does not interfere with the optical window on the cuvette on which the measurement read takes place, and which is opposite the side abutting the fixed support.

摘要: A cement of the same general characteristics of a normal Type I is provided which involves the intergrind of from 1 up to about 25 parts by weight of air-cooled iron blast furnace slag, and from over 75 up to 99 parts by weight of conventional Type I Portland clinker. Traditional set control additives, particularly such as sulfate provided through gypsum, are used in the new cement composition. It is particularly noted that the slag involved is air-cooled, as contrasted to an amorphous material obtained by water quenching. In some respects the new product is better than traditional Type I, and can thus be referred to as an improved Type I.
