摘要: A centrifugal separator for separating oil, the centrifugal separator comprising a centrifuge housing, a drive housing, a separating rotor, a shaft, a first bearing, a second bearing and a drive. A drive chamber is formed in the drive housing and a separating chamber is formed in the centrifuge housing. A partition wall is formed between the drive chamber and the separating chamber, and the partition wall comprises an opening. The shaft extends through the opening of the partition wall into the separating chamber and into the drive chamber, and the separating rotor is connected to the shaft for conjoint rotation and is arranged in the separating chamber. The drive is arranged in the drive chamber and drives the shaft, and the drive is in the form of an electric motor which drives the shaft directly in such a way that the shaft forms a motor shaft of the electric motor.

摘要: An arrangement for cleaning gas includes a centrifugal separator and pre-separation unit. The centrifugal separator includes a stationary casing, enclosing a separation space through which a gas flow is permitted, a gas inlet extending through the stationary casing and permitting supply of the gas from the pre-separation unit, a rotating stack of separation disks, a gas outlet and a drainage outlet for discharging separated liquid impurities. The pre-separation unit is arranged upstream of said inlet of said centrifugal separator, and it comprises a pre-separation inlet having a cross-sectional area A2 and permitting supply of the gas to be cleaned. A2 is larger than the cross-sectional area A1 of the inlet to the separation space of the centrifugal separator. A pre-separation outlet permits supply of gas from the pre-separation unit to the gas inlet of the centrifugal separator. A first chamber and a second chamber arranged downstream thereof are separated by at least one intermediate wall including at least one through-hole.

摘要: Rotating coalescer crankcase ventilation (CV) systems are described. The described CV systems utilize a contact seal to seal a gap between a static side of a housing and a rotating coalescer inlet. The rotating coalescer may be driven mechanically, electrically, hydraulically, or the like. The contact seal can be formed via a soft solid or a liquid film created by oil. Accordingly, the contact seal is a hydrodynamic soft seal. The contact seal prevents the blowby gases from bypassing the filter element of the rotating coalescer. At the same time, the contact seal may be broken during positive blowby gas recirculation circumstances because the contact seal is a hydrodynamic soft seal.
