摘要: Subscribers request programs from a network based content server and view the requested programs via their customer equipment. The content server receives various programs and breaks the program content for each program into a sequence of program segments, which are logically linked by program association indicia. The content server also receives advertisements and stores the advertisements as advertising segments, which generally contain at least one complete advertisement, but the invention is not limited thereto. Upon receiving a program request from a subscriber, the content server will identify advertising segments to provide along with the program segments for the requested program, and where to place the advertising segments among the program segments. Next, the content server will generate composite association indicia identifying the sequence of program and advertising segments, and effect delivery of the program and advertising segments to the subscriber in the sequence defined by the composite association indicia.

摘要: A load balancer is capable of receiving and identifying multicast streams associated with a multicast session, and selecting at least one of the multicast streams for delivery to a selected stream processor. The selected stream processor is selected from a group of stream processors that are capable of providing the Layer 4-7 processing required for the multicast stream. The load balancer will monitor the processed multicast stream provided by the output of the selected stream processor, and send the processed multicast stream toward its destination. The load balancer can detect a failure in the selected stream processor by monitoring the output of the selected stream processor. If there is a failure of the selected stream processor, the load balancer will select another stream processor for processing the multicast stream, and redirect the multicast stream from the failed stream processor to the selected stream processor, wherein the process continues.

摘要: A rights management technique allows user terminals to share usage rights that are necessary for accessing associated media content, while ensuring that the media content is not accessed in violation of the usage rights. A content provider may deliver the media content and the associated usage rights to a first user terminal. The usage rights may be sharable as well as divisible. The first user terminal will account for all or that portion of the usage rights that are subsequently transferred, and may retain any remaining usage rights. The first user terminal may transfer all or a portion of any usage rights at the first user terminal to a second user terminal, wherein the transferred usage rights allow the second user terminal to access the media content. The second user terminal may also transfer the usage rights, and perhaps the media content, to other user terminals.

摘要: The invention relates to a telecommunication method and a system suitable for same for establishing a connection with a mobile station, for example a GSM mobile telephone, of a subscriber located in a visited public land mobile network. According to said method the calling mobile subscriber in the visited public land mobile network prepares a short message, for example an unstructured supplementary service data message with the desired destination number and sends said message, which is then transmitted to a callback computer which establishes a connection between the calling mobile subscriber and the desired destination number. A connection to a called mobile subscriber in a visited public land mobile network is established by a callback computer whose number is assigned to the called mobile subscriber in the home location register. Before a connection is established the remaining credit and airtime of the mobile subscriber is verified in a prepaid module connected to the callback computer, on the basis of prepaid amounts or with the aid of at least one schedule of telephone tariffs and on the basis of a location of said subscribers stored in the home location register of the home public land mobile network.

摘要: A drive control for transportation systems, especially elevators or the like, improves the stopping accuracy of the elevator cabin at a storey or floor of the building. A reference value transmitter operated by a digital computer produces step-like successive travel curves and displacement path-reference values operatively associated with such travel curves and feedable to a regulation circuit. Connected with the reference value transmitter is a stop initiation device, which during initiating the stop or halting of the elevator, forms from a possible target path produced by the reference value transmitter and a target path corresponding to a target storey a target error. This target error is infed to a stop correction device connected with the reference value transmitter and the stop initiation device, which while utilizing the target error modifies by interpolation the travel curve which is to be produced by the reference value transmitter in a manner such that there is available for regulation an optimum travel curve to the target storey. An arrival correction device which further improves the halt or stop accuracy of the elevator, forms from the elevator cabin site determined at a cabin displacement path counter and the storey site of the target storey a difference which, for the purpose of further correction of the displacement path-reference value, is infed to the stop correction device. This drive control, apart from being used with elevator systems, for instance also can be employed for track-bound horizontal systems.
