    摘要: A two-cycle engine for small watercraft for driving a propeller shaft includes a water discharge passageway located in the crankcase of the engine for communicating the crank chamber with outside to discharge water from the crank chamber. A closing member having a manually operated portion for opening and closing the closing member is fitted in the water discharge passageway. When it is desired to discharge water from the crank chamber, the manually operated portion is manipulated to open the closing member, so that the water can be discharged therefrom to outside via the water discharge passageway without requiring to remove the engine from the engine room.

    摘要: In a multi-gap type spark plug for an internal combustion engine, the spark plug has a cylindrical metallic shell into which a tubular ceramic insulator is enclosed. The insulator has a tapered front leg portion, a front end of which extends beyond that of the metallic shell. A center electrode is enclosed into the insulator, having at a front end thereof, a filing tip extending beyond that of the insulator. A plurality of L-shaped outer electrodes each having a vertical piece and lateral piece, the vertical piece depending from the front end of the metallic shell to surround the front end of the insulator, while the lateral piece having an inner surface arranged in parallel with a front end surface of the insulator, and having an end tip terminated to oppose an outer surface of the firing tip through a spark gap established therebetween. A vertical distance between the front end surface of the insulator and the inner surface of the lateral piece of each outer electrode is determined to be within a dimension ranging from 0.3 mm to 1.2 mm.

A viscous material is charged by the charging means into container main bodies conveyed by the container conveying means, the drum body of the container main body is pressed by the pressing means to cause the surface of the viscous material to bulge, and the opening of the reinforcing component of the container main body is capped by the capping means, allowing the opening to be capped in an air-tight manner with a lid member while virtually all of the air inside the container main body is evacuated, and preventing air from being left over in the container main body so as to prevent hardening, curing and deterioration in the quality of the viscous material that can be caused by such remaining air.

    摘要: A gas sensor 1 includes a casing 10 which covers a sensing element 2 and includes two cylindrical members. The cylindrical members are axially disposed in such a manner as to overlap each other. Examples of the cylindrical members are a protector 11 (outer member) and a protector attachment portion 9a (inner member) of a metallic shell 9. A diameter-reduced portion 81 is circumferentially formed on the outer member 11 through, for example, caulking. A weld zone 83 is circumferentially formed at the diameter-reduced portion 81 so as to weld the outer member 11 onto the inner member 9a. Through formation of the diameter-reduced portion 81, a gap between the outer member 11 and the inner member 9a as measured at the position of the weld zone is reduced, thereby improving adhesion therebetween. As a result, possibility of a weld defect arising can be suppressed. Further, attainment of a good welded state does not require the practice of dimensional control of the inner and outer members; particularly, strict dimensional control of the difference between the bore diameter of the outer member and the outside diameter of the inner member. Hence, production efficiency or yield of gas sensors is improved.
