摘要: An optical element is provided, to move an optical axis of a scanning light incident to a substrate so that illumination positions on photodetecting faces of two photodetectors agree or almost agree with each other. Respective surface information signals sent out from the two photodetectors are accordingly agreed or a difference of the signals is minimized, whereby the measuring accuracy in surface inspection is improved.

摘要: A lamp with a reflector in which a lamp is fixed firmly inside a reflector by fixing the lamp inside the reflector without using an adhesive. The lamp with a reflector includes a lamp having a base at one end and a reflector including, at one end of its reflecting surface, a hole into which the base of the lamp is inserted and an opening portion at the other end. The base is maintained in the hole, so that the lamp is positioned inside the reflector. The lamp is fixed inside the reflector by fitting a hollow metal fitting into the hole, inserting the base into the hollow metal fitting, and then combining the base and the hollow metal fitting into one component by welding. The position of the lamp inside the reflector can be adjusted easily and no process for drying an adhesive is required.

摘要: The illuminating system comprises a linear light source, and a light guide member with the light source placed beside a side face thereof, in which the top face and the bottom face of the light guide member are generally parallel to each other and in which slits made of a different material or air are arranged at specified intervals in the top face of the light guide member. Therefore, most of light propagating within the light guide member is totally reflected at the slits formed in the light guide member so as to be outputted from the light guide member, thereby illuminating a reflecting plate. Its reflected light is incident again on the light guide member and the resulting totally reflected light is transmitted to the observer's side at places other than the slits, while the observer's field of view is not obstructed at the slit portions.
