摘要:
In, for example, a direct methanol type fuelcell, fuel is allowed to be injected little by little when the fuel is injected and supplied from the outside to a fuel receiving part reduced in the amount of remaining fuel on the fuelcell body side and an electromotive part can be prevented from being damaged by keeping the pressure in the fuel receiving part at a fixed level or less when the fuel is injected. Specifically, when a fuel CL filled in a refuelling container C is injected into a fuel receiving part T in several lots, a fuel injecting operation is repeated in which the volume of the refuelling container C is shrunk and reduced to supply the fuel into the fuel receiving part T in a proper amount and then the original volume of the refuelling container is restored to thereby absorb the atmospheric gas in the fuel receiving part T, which makes it possible to inject fuel continuously without any hindrance to the injection of the fuel.

A stainless steel material for a fuel cell, used for a fuel cell or a cartridge for the fuel cell, having a magnetic permeability of 1.000 to 2.500, and forming a layer having a value of chromium atomic %/iron atomic % of not less than 3.0 in the most surface thereof, and/or the layer of thickness of not less than 12 nm calculated as SiO2 having an oxygen atomic % of not less than 20%. Even when brought into contact with the content solution exhibiting acidity of the fuel cell, the stainless steel material reliably suppresses the elution of metal ions thereof.

A fuel cartridge 5 for a fuel cell includes a cartridge body 8 containing liquid fuel for the fuel cell, and a nozzle part 9 supplying the liquid fuel to a fuel cell body. The nozzle part 9 has a nozzle head 12 provided on the cartridge body 8 and an insertion portion 14 which is inserted in a socket part 6 of the fuel cell body, and a valve mechanism (19, 20, 21, 22) arranged in the nozzle head 12. A recess portion 15 is provided in a tip of the insertion portion 14 of the nozzle head 12. Liquid fuel remaining on the tip of the nozzle part 9 is accommodated in the recess portion 15.

A nozzle part 9 provided in a fuel cartridge is inserted in a socket part 6 provided in a fuel cell body, and the nozzle part 9 and the socket part 6 are coupled. The nozzle part 9 has a nozzle head 12 provided on the cartridge body 8 and a valve mechanism arranged in this nozzle head 12. On a tip of the nozzle head 12, a spherical portion 15 is provided so as to detach from the socket part 6 without being interfered when a bending load is applied to the fuel cartridge 5 coupled to the fuel cell body.

Liquid fuel received in a container can be injected manually in a safe, easy and convenient manner. In a fuel cell cartridge for fuel cells in which at a port portion (14) of the container (10) in which the liquid fuel is received, there is provided a plug (30P) that is adapted to be connected with a fuel cell for filling the fuel thereinto, a bellows portion (15) acting as a portion capable of extension and contraction is formed in at least a part of the container (10), and on the plug (30P), there is provided a valve mechanism (34) which is held in a normally closed state in a free state thereof, and is opened when the plug is connected with the fuel cell (70).

A coil spring for fuel cells, used for a fuel cell or a cartridge for the fuel cell, comprising an austenite type stainless steel without any nickel layer formed on the surface thereof, and having a cationic index I of not more than 60 as expressed by the following formula (1), I=A+2B+3C (1) wherein A, B and C represent, respectively, a concentration (ppb) of monovalent metal ions, a concentration (ppb) of metal ions which are neither monovalent nor trivalent, and a concentration (ppb) of trivalent metal ions per the coil spring in a methanol solution of when the coil spring is dipped in the methanol solution (containing 1% of water+4000 ppm of formic acid) and preserved therein at 60° C. for one week. Even when brought into contact with the content solution exhibiting acidity of the fuel cell, the coil spring reliably suppresses the elution of metal ions thereof.
摘要:
As shown in FIG. 4, as coupling holding means 20 for holding coupling between a socket S10 and a plug P10, an engaging projection 22 is formed in the plug P10 and an engaging recess 21 is formed in the socket S10 so that the socket S10 is coupled with the plug P10 accurately by an operation to engage the projection 22 with the recess 21 after an overriding operation of the projection 22. Additionally, on the plug P10 is provided a cam portion 31 which inclines in substantially a circumferential direction about a central axis running in the coupling direction and a cam follower portion 32 is formed in the socket S10. In a case where an abnormal rotational force exceeding a normal range of use is applied, an automatic release of coupling is made between the cam portion and the cam follower portion.

A recess 32a is formed in the foremost end portion of an insertion portion of a plug P10. A lubricating film 72 is provided as lubricating property imparting means 70 for imparting lubricating property to at least one of contact seal surfaces A formed by fitting and coupling of a socket S10 and the plug P10. Lubricating property is imparted to the contact seal surface A formed by fitting and coupling of the socket S10 and the plug P10 by the lubricating film 72 of the lubricating property imparting means 70 to thereby achieve smooth coupling and secure sealing property by close fitting of the socket S10 with the plug P10.
