    摘要: Handover is a main function that is used to support mobility in the network. In a cellular communication network having adaptive antennas for enabling narrow beam operation, it is assumed that a mobile unit is served by an active cell set (S1). A basic idea according to the present invention is to select, prior to establishment of a new serving radio link for a mobile unit, a narrow target beam within a neighbor area of the current active cell set of the mobile unit based on pre-established information of narrow beams within the neighbor area (S2), and to initiate establishment of the new serving radio link directly with the selected narrow target beam (S3). In this way, the narrow target beam can be selected at handover initiation and the new radio link can be established directly with a target narrow beam without first establishing the radio link with a cell-wide beam and then, after uplink measurements, reconfiguring the radio link onto a narrow beam.

    摘要: A multi-bit HARQ feedback is transmitted by a receiver to a transmitter. The multi-bit feedback is a function of a level of convergence reached by a decoder when the previously transmitted coded data bits bit were decoded. The transmitter is configured to select a set of coded data bits for a retransmission as a function of the multi-bit feedback. In some embodiments, different redundancy versions of the coded data bits may be selected as a function of the multi-bit feedback. In other embodiments, a bit puncturing or bit repetition pattern may be selected as a function of the multi-bit feed back.

    摘要: In a transmitter using at least two transmitting antennas a STTD transmitter is used in combination with a common pre-coding transmitter for power amplifying power balancing. A selector can be provided for selecting data/channels transmitted using STTD and common pre-coding such that for one channel type, STTD or common pre-coding is used whereas the combination of both STTD and common pre-coding is used for a different data/channel type. By selectively using both STTD and common pre-coding for power amplifier power balancing, an improved power balancing is achieved. At the same time, the STTD gain is obtained in the relevant cases but the STTD loss in other cases is avoided.
