摘要: A binocular vision analyzer apparatus is used for determining a prescription of visual aids for the eyes of an individual. The apparatus includes first and second targets respectively corresponding to the first and second eyes of the individual and at least one illuminator unit for illuminating the targets. An optical system is configured to present respective virtual images of the first and second targets so as to be viewable by the respective first and second eyes. At least one beam splitter disposed in front of the first and second eyes directs the virtual images toward the respective eyes. The apparatus also includes first and second spherical correction devices and first and second cylindrical correction devices that respectively correspond to the first and second eyes.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide a security expert system (SES) that automates intrusion detection analysis and threat discovery that can use fuzzy logic and forward-chaining inference engines to approximate human reasoning process. Embodiments of the SES can analyze incoming security events and generate a threat rating that indicates the likelihood of an event or a series of events being a threat. In one embodiment, the threat rating is determined based on an attacker rating, a target rating, a valid rating, and, optionally, a negative rating. In one embodiment, the threat rating may be affected by a validation flag. The SES can analyze the criticality of assets and calibrate/recalibrate the severity of an attack accordingly to allow for triage. The asset criticality can have a user-defined value. This ability allows the SES to protect and defend critical network resources in a discriminating and selective manner if necessary (e.g., many attacks).

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of attaching a handle to a solid oral dosage form by use of high frequency mechanical vibrations. The present invention also relates to a method of attaching a handle to a solid oral dosage form, the method comprising: (a) placing a handle in contact with a solid oral dosage form, wherein an area of contact between the handle and the solid oral dosage form forms a joint interface; (b) applying high frequency mechanical vibrations to the joint interface until the solid oral dosage form at the joint interface reaches a molten state; and (c) cooling the joint interface in a molten state to allow solidification, thereby attaching the handle to the solid oral dosage form.

摘要: A multipurpose utility trailer is provided for transporting materials and equipment. The utility trailer has a wheeled elongated frame and a platform is positioned at the rear end of the frame for supporting and transporting equipment. A dump box is positioned at the front end of the frame and is pivotably attached to the frame such that it is movable between a lowered position for containing and transporting materials and a raised position for discharging materials to one side of the frame. A hydraulic mechanism is provided to pivot the dump box between lowered and raised positions. In one embodiment, the dump box includes a plurality of side portions and a bottom portion. One of the side portions is pivotably attached to the dump box and pivotable between a closed position to retain the materials in the dump box and an open position to allow for discharge of the materials to one side of the frame.

摘要: A method and system for reading various codes such as codes imprinted on an item includes a first and a second code reader each scan the code on the item to read the code. The data obtained by the first and the second code reader is merged to reconstruct the code on said item. The position of the one or more of the code readers may be adjusted such that the maximum reading efficiency of said code by each code reader occurs at different points of the scanned code. This helps to facilitate merging the data obtained by the first and the second code reader to reconstruct the code on the item. By adjusting the position of one or more of the code readers, degradation of the reading of the item code due, for example, to beat frequencies occurs at different points in the code for each code reader. The method and system may be employed in various applications such as with sortation systems and other paper handling equipment. The method and system may be employed with different types of codes including various forms of bar codes. The item may have single or plural codes, which may be the same or different type codes.

摘要: In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the method for modifying a loan against property that embodies negative equity includes: identifying a summation of current outstanding monies owed by a borrower(s) of a loan, identifying the current value of the property against which a loan has been originated, determining whether the summation of outstanding monies owed is greater than the current value of the property, identifying whether there is mutual desire between a loan borrower(s) and lender to forgive a quantity of the summation of outstanding monies owed, determining the timing and terms under which a quantity of outstanding monies owed by the borrower(s) may be forgiven, and executing the forgiveness.
