    摘要: A method and apparatus of video coding for a video encoding system or video decoding system are disclosed. According to one method, the current block region is partitioned into one or more leaf blocks using quadtree (QT) partition and/or 1D (one-dimensional) partition by firstly signalling or parsing a first syntax element to indicate whether the current block region is split into multiple smaller blocks. According to a second method, a target syntax model from multiple syntax models is determined. The current block region is partitioned into one or more leaf blocks using QT partition and/or 1D partition and signalling block partition information according to the target syntax model at an encoder side, or the block partition information is parsed according to the target syntax model and the current block region is partitioned into one or more leaf blocks at a decoder side.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for encoding and decoding prediction residues in a video coding system also disclosed. At the decoder side, a Rice parameter for the target transform coefficient is determined based on a local sum of absolute levels of neighboring transform coefficients of the target transform coefficient. A dependent quantization state is determined and a zero-position variable is determined based on the dependent quantization state and the Rice parameter. One or more coded bits associated with a first syntax element for the target transform coefficient in a transform block are parsed and decoded using one or more codes including a Golomb-Rice code with the Rice parameter, where the first syntax element corresponds to a modified absolute level value of the target transform coefficient. An absolute level value of the target transform coefficient is derived according to the zero-position variable and the first syntax element.

    摘要: A video decoder receives data from a bitstream for a block of pixels to be decoded as a current block of a current picture of a video. The current block includes a transform block. The video decoder determines a regular bin budget for the transform block. The video decoder entropy decodes the transform block as either regular bins using context modeling or as bypass bins without context modeling. A number of the regular bins used for entropy coding the transform block is limited by the determined regular bin budget regardless of whether the regular bins represent samples of (i) residual signals used to reconstruct pixel data of the current block or (ii) transform coefficients generated by transform operations of the residual signals. The video decoder reconstructs the current block based on the entropy decoded transform block.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for video coding using coding modes including a palette mode are disclosed. In one embodiment, the total number of palette indices in the current block is coded into a binary string using a TR (Truncated Rice) binarization process with the Rice parameter to generate a prefix part and using an EGk (k-th order Exp-Golomb) binary process to generate a suffix part for the binary string, or using the EGk binarization process with the Rice parameter (k). The suffix part is allowed to be empty. In another embodiment, a Rice parameter is determined. If the Rice parameter is equal to or greater than log-base-2 of current block size, the variable related to a total number of palette indices in the current block of video data is binarized into a binary string using a fixed-length code with bit length equal to log-base-2 of current block size.

    摘要: A method of efficient lossless mode syntax signaling for a coding system supporting both lossless and lossy coding is disclosed. In one embodiment, a first syntax element is incorporated in a picture level to indicate whether to use a forced lossless coding mode if lossless coding is allowed for the current picture. If the first syntax indicates that the forced lossless coding mode is selected, all coding units in the slices of the picture are coded using lossless coding. If the first syntax indicates that the forced lossless coding mode is not selected, each coding unit in a slice of the picture can be coded according to a second syntax element indicating whether each coding unit is coded using lossless coding or not. In another embodiment, the forced lossless mode can be applied to coding units on a slice by slice basis.

In one example, a SAO-sign threshold is introduced to determine the sign of the difference between a current reconstructed pixel and a neighboring reconstructed pixel. A range of difference values greater than the negative SAO-sign threshold and smaller than the positive SAO-sign threshold is assigned to have a sign value of 0. In another example, the SAO-offset value is derived by multiplying the SAO-offset sign with a result from applying left shift by the SAO-bit-shift value to the absolute SAO-offset value. In yet another example, the absolute SAO-offset value is coded by truncated Rice (TR) codes and a maximum TR value is indicated by a syntax element.

    摘要: Video processing methods and apparatuses in a video encoding or decoding system for processing residual data of transform blocks. A current transform block in a video picture is divided into multiple sub-blocks, and each sub-block in the current transform block is entropy encoded or decoded using multiple sub-block coding passes. Each transform coefficient level in each sub-block is visited once according to a pre-defined scanning order in each sub-block coding pass. Two or more syntax elements associated with transform coefficient levels in the current transform block are aggregated and coded in one single sub-block coding pass. The video processing method is applied if the current transform block contains at least one non-zero transform coefficient level and the current transform block is coded in Transform Skip Mode (TSM) according to some embodiments.
