摘要: A method for decorating a vitreous substrate with a radiation curable ink composition, comprising applying an ink composition comprised of an N-vinyl lactam to the glass in a predetermined design, the ink being operable when cured to bond to the vitreous substrate, curing the ink on the vitreous substrate by exposing it to the radiation by which it is curable, thereby bonding the ink composition to the substrate; and a method for decorating a vitreous substrate with hot stamping foil comprising applying an ink composition comprised of an N-vinyl lactam to the glass in a predetermined design, the ink being operable when cured to bond to the vitreous substrate, curing the ink on the vitreous substrate by exposing it to the radiation by which it is curable, thereby bonding the ink composition to the substrate, pressing a sheet of hot stamping foil against the substrate with a die heated to a temperature sufficient to cause a portion of the hot stamping foil to adhere to the heated, cured, ink design but not to the ink free areas of the vitreous substrate, removing the die, thereby leaving behind a portion of the foil adhered to the ink design but not to the ink-free areas of the glass.

摘要: A primer composition for radiation curable inks comprising 75-99.99% water, 0.01-20% of a silane coupling agent having the general formula: ##STR1## and 0.001-20% of a nonionic surfactant which is a polyethylene glycol glyceryl fatty acid ester; a method for pre-treating a vitreous article prior to application of organic radiation curable decorative indicia with said primer composition; and a method for applying decorative indicia to the surface of a vitreous article comprising the steps of (a) applying to the surface of the article a primer composition containing a solvent and a coupling agent capable of forming a chemical bond between the surface of the vitreous article and an organic, radiation curable composition, (b) applying an organic radiation curable ink composition over the primer composition in a desired design, (c) curing the organic ink composition on the article by exposing it to the radiation by which it is curable, thereby causing the coupling agent to form a chemical bond between the surface of the vitreous article and the cured organic ink composition; and a method for pre-treating vitreous articles.

摘要: An apparatus and method enables screen printing various articles such as glassware with a radiation curable composition using, for example, UV radiation and the like in pre-existing screen printing decorating equipment having a plurality of screen printing workstations. Particularly suitable compositions are those which are environmentally safe by virtue of being free of toxic heavy metals and volatile organic compounds. The applied inked image is at least partially cured at each screen printing workstation to form a skin on the surface of the transferred image of sufficient strength to support the next layer to be applied. The UV radiation may emanate opposing and underlying each of the screen printing workstations were brought thereto from a remotely positioned laser via a fiber optic bundle or light pipe.

摘要: A cosmetics container is provided having a housing (1) which is coverable by a cap (2). The housing protectively contains a cosmetic or medicinal preparation such as a lipstick or ointment which can be extruded for application to the skin. In solid lipsticks, problems often arise as a result their temperature-dependent characteristics. To avoid such problems, the container of the invention is for use with a pumpable fluid preparation in the form of a paste or viscous liquid. The container acts as a dispenser, having a push-button actuator (10, 20') operable to pump the preparation in a skin contact element (31) with an applicator surface (32) and a dispensing valve (33). In a particularly useful embodiment, the skin applicator surface (31) is arranged in a plane which is inclined in relation to a longitudinal axis (x--x) of the housing (1).
