摘要: A method of making the label assembly comprises providing a label stock material having a printed upper surface and a lower surface adhesively secured to a backing web having a release coating; laminating a web of static cling material is to the upper surface of the label stock material, printing on the upper surface of the static cling web material; and die cutting the label stock/static cling web material into discrete label assemblies. A method for servicing an automobile with a label assembly that has a pressure sensitive product label with printed product or service indicia and a static cling layer with data entry indicia mounted on the product label includes the steps of applying the label assembly to a service portion of the vehicle, applying oil change data to the static cling layer and applying the static cling layer to the windshield of the automobile.

摘要: Disclosed is a method of manufacturing an optical waveguide, capable of easily manufacturing an optical waveguide which can hold an excellent light propagating characteristic irrespective of the kind of a supporting substrate. On a transparent substrate, a peelability promoting film obtained by setting silicone oil and an optical waveguide made of an epoxy resin are sequentially formed. The peelability promoting film promotes the peelability between the transparent substrate and the optical waveguide with sufficient adhesion that it is not peeled off from the transparent substrate during formation of the optical waveguide. Subsequently, after adhering a multilayer wiring board to the optical waveguide via an adhering layer made of a photosetting resin, the adhering layer is irradiated with light so as to be set, thereby fixing the multilayer wiring board to the optical waveguide. When a tensile stress is mechanically applied to the transparent substrate, the transparent substrate is easily peeled off from the optical waveguide together with the peelability promoting film, and the optical waveguide is transferred onto the multilayer wiring board.

摘要: An automotive quality paint coat is laminated to the exterior surface of a molded plastic car body panel. In one embodiment, the paint coat includes an exterior clear coat above a color coat. The clear coat and color coat are each coated on a temporary flexible casting sheet and dried. A high gloss surface is transferred to the clear coat from the casting sheet. The paint coat is then transferred from the casting sheet to a thin, semi-flexible thermoformable plastic backing sheet by dry paint transfer-laminating techniques. The resulting laminate is thermoformed into a complex three-dimensional shape of the car body panel. The preformed laminate is then bonded to a plastic substrate material by injection-cladding techniques to form the finished article. The paint coat has sufficient elongation to retain exterior automotive appearance and durability properties during thermoforming without deglossing. The backing sheet absorbs defects in the substrate material so the paint coat retains its appearance and durability properties. The finished article comprises a high gloss, defect-free paint coat on the exterior of a molded plastic car body panel.

摘要: A decorative elastic cushion is manufactured with an elastomer having the physical properties of flexibility and compressibility in a range of flexibilities and compressibilities of stable elastomeric block polymer gels. A film is provided for encapsulating the elastomer and the film includes physical properties of flexibility to enable uninhibited flexure and compression of the elastomer by a user. Decorative printing is disposed on a film interior side facing the elastomer in order to provide photo-like logos and decorations to the cushion, while having a film exterior surface resistant to abrasion and enabling cleaning thereof without affecting the decorative pattern. Printing of the film is effected by heat contacting the film with a printed paper.

摘要: A protectively reflected binary image is provided comprising a thermally imaged transparency on which is superposed a thin reflective protective overcoat, the imaged transparency comprising a binary image supported on a transparent substrate. The reflective protective overcoat is interfacially bonded to the thermally imaged transparency preferably such that the binary image is interposed between the transparent substrate and the reflective protective overcoat. A method for transferring a reflective protective overcoat onto an imaged transparency is also provided, whereby an image surface of the imaged transparency is protected and made viewable as a reflected image, the method utilizing a laminar transfer sheet comprising a carrier web and a reflective protective overcoat, the laminar transfer sheet being laminated onto the image surface with the carrier web subsequently removed to thereby release the reflective protective overcoat, the overcoat remaining bonded to the image surface.
